Not really a penalty though on Trouba.

This gam is boring due to the refs...
Yea they are killing it.....those first two penalties that were actually non penalties set the tone.

Good point. And I guess that as long as they don't really intercept the passes, just touches them, I can't complain too much.

Man these refs are awful. Or atleast the one calling all the penalties.

Ah, sometimes I just love female sports journalists.

- So, what's most important in the game now? Score more goals, but not let them score any?

Well... no ****?

Reporter: "Setting up the play"
Iginla: "You mean my goal?"

That said, there are some very good journalists out there as well. I give major props to those that do well in a male dominated profession.

PS: Is this how much people have missed hockey? Up at ungodly hours watching USA vs. the Czech's? Woke up about 20mins late - how's Trouba playing?
EDIT: poor Czech goalie - seemed to be playing well, then gets the hook. Nice assist by Trouba - BIG rebound on his shot.

Splendid shot by Trouba, leading to a rebound and another easy goal.

There's a reason you are not a GM clearly...idiot, yeah Jones average tournament has him COMPLETELY pulled him away from guys who were largely rated ahead of him..

Nice feed by Galchenyuk to Barber for the G. Pretty hard to miss when the goalie's drawn so far out of position...

Czechs finally get some momentum, and a bit of chincy call and it's 4-0 US. Sure he was on knees but he played the puck, it was not in the back, just finishing his check. Meh.

Gibson sure has been impressive this tournament though, wow.

EDIT: Another weak call on Trochek, this is horrible to watch.

EDIT2: Some good news...that last SH goal assures Bartosak will start the 5/6 game, which is good for my team in the pool

That was a NICE SH goal by Barber. Ooops - looks like the Czech goalie tripped.

Hattrick for Gaudreau. Czech's fairly outmatched in this game.

Indeed. It will be a good semi against the US.

That pisses me off. If you don't understand the CBA and way prospect rights work, don't talk on TV about it. Announcers just butchered the understanding of the CBA and transfer rights...filled with half truths and reeking of not understanding...I don't get paid and I understand this stuff better than these guys...

EDIT: I think Trouba just broke Miller's foot hahaha

Galchenyuk gets the only penalty on that? LOLWut? High stick, push, shove, push, highstick, then he gives a teeny little slash back, and he gets the call on him?

It was more than a "teeny little slash", it was a two hander to the back of the legs, but yeah that Hertl failed to get a penalty makes no sense...

The one thing I've noticed is that Trouba has been pretty tame in the physical department. I'm guessing he was asked to tone it down, would've been nice to see some bone crushing hits but I think US coaching wants him to play it safe.

Call me stuck in the past, but I still think it's weird to see a Russian soldier holding an American flag...

Ok, I'll admit: I was exagerrating for dramatic effect. The most surprising thing was that there was no call fairly quickly on that - quite a roughing up he took before he decided to fight back.

Now looks like the Czechs have completely given up - penalty after penalty. Not surprising with only 2m left in a rout.

I'm really interested in seeing how the Russia - Swiss game goes: Switzerland seems to have a reasonable team this year. Any predictions?

There's little need to be punishing against a team that's vastly overmatched. Wait until the Semis and (god forbid) the finals.

If the Swiss can keep the Russians to the outside and go in reasonably on the forecheck, they can keep it a close game. I don't expect the Russians to roll over like they did in the Canada game, so I expect a bit more parity when it comes to shots on goal. I say 3-1 Russia.

Swiss are scrappy bunch, they play a good team game and compete hard...I'm a big fan of Swiss hockey, they are making unreal progress and always play tough...but they lack the depth and top end skill of the Russians. Russia will be quite upset as well, not happy with their effort in the New Years Eve game against the Canadians...

7-2 Russia would be my guess.

Honestly I more interested in the Finland Germany relegation game on right now...but that's just because I have money on Finland winning by 3 or more

Yeah, you have a point. He was pretty mean against Canada though, especially with Scheifele

Good game by Trouba and the Americans. I'll be cheering for Canada to win unless Trouba scores all the US goals

Really looking forward to the game tomorrow.

IMO, USA has the best d-man and the best goalie of the tournament so far. If their forwards really are as good as they've seem the last few games, I think they will win.
