Everybody in the organization who was part of drafting an inexperienced, 26 year old, interior lineman with no heart in the first round deserves to be working at McDonald's.
So who do they take with the first round pick? I know out areas of need, but I'm always wary of picking anything else but the best player available with a first round pick, especially a top 5 pick.
I'd go with manti te'o. He's the best bet to be a superstar in this draft and a bonafide difference maker on the defensive side of the ball. We don't have any of those types of players.
Luke Joeckel the T from Texas a&m has to be the pick if he's there, if not I would like Star Lotulelei the DT from Utah. When rebuilding a team you go with QB, OL, or DL. No QBs worth taking at 4, we are a year too late for that.
Joeckel. To get any sense of whether or not Foles can consistently perform in this league, he'll need a line to protect him. Peters may never be the same after an achilles injury. If we're fortunate enough that he is (or close to it), Herremans can slide back to guard and we can have Joeckel and Peters outside. If Peters isn't the same, Joeckel played LT in college and should slide in easily, and have a chance to learn from the best.

This is my pick as well. He might not (although he could) be an All-Pro tackle, but he looks like he will at least be a super steady guy a la Runyan.
If you look at the stats. He's too good physically. Long arms, great athlete, great burst. Under the right coach and system, he could be right there with the best pass rushers in the league.

Oh, there's no doubt he has all the physical tools, but the (few) times I've seen him in game, I've been underwhelmed.

Aldon Smith was the same way playing in the Big 12. Mingo is a much better athlete than Smith. I just think he's too gifted physically that he couldn't fill some role successfully at the next level.
Our draft pick depends in large part on several factors including:
Health of Jason Peters
New Coaching Staff - Does the next coach want to implement a 3-4 defensive scheme
Projections of players after Round 1
In a vacuum, I'd select Joeckel because I want a potentially dominant offensive line (Peters-Mathis-Kelce-Herremans-Joeckel) to build the offensive around.
That said, if we decide to implement a 3-4 defense, I could easily see Fletcher Cox sliding to a DE spot and a NT like Star Lotulelei or OLB like Jarvis Jones being the pick. I personally don't want the pick to be Te'o. I love him as a player, but given the vast array of needs, I'd prefer to build the lines.

I would imagine part of that is to fulfill the Rooney rule requirements.
