Classic HF, judging a prospects entire value on the WJC.
I honestly just feel bad for the guy. How in the world can you judge what's been probably now the most miss-used prospect in the history of the wjc. Housley literally REFUSES to have confidence in the kid. Galchenyuk should just leave and go home at this point. Last straw for me was Biggs before Gally on the pp, that was the absolute proof I needed that Housley just doesn't like him.

Even Grimaldi, a guy that was benched for an entire game, got PP duties before Galchenyuk. Final straw came early for me, when it was 4-on-4 to end the 1st period and Housley throws out Kuraly and Barber. Had to do a double take to make sure I was seeing a 16 and not a 15.

I don't really blame him. Alot of the Habs fans have been pretty annoying this entire tournament. Just my opinion.
Man if you had a prospect of that potential who is 2nd in points while being used at the wrong position with the wrong players and no pp time, you'd be annoying too.
Not to mention it's not just us, even TSN had a special saying that Galchenyuk was the stud of USA and Housley the dud for his utilisation.
Time On Ice : 70m47 / ES : 44m52 / PP : 25m55
TOI / Game : 14m09 / ES : 8m58 / PP : 5m11
Product 1 point each 8m51
He hasn't been amazing, but before this game he was leading the team in scoring, and was in on half of USA goals in the whole tourney, and was in all goals scored vs both Canada and Russia.
Smoked? Canada didn't exactly "smoke" them last game. Subban basically won the game for them...
I agree, neither team is getting smoked tomorrow. But to say Subban basically won the game for Canada is overstating it. If not for Gibson being unreal, Canada may have scored 4 or 5 or more on the US. Both goalies played equal, if not, Gibson was better.

Well, I'm a Flames fan. I thought Gaudreau wasn't taking off because Grimaldi letting plays literally die on his stick, but I didn't ***** and whine about it every single time.
USA is winning right now, so I guess I don't see what the problem is. The fact remains that short of Galchenyuk playing 30 mins/game I'm sure Habs fans would be in here *****ing and moaning.
I'm a habs fan and when i read threads like this one i understand why other teams fans want habs prospect to fail. If i was Housley I think I'd play Galchenyuk 5 minutes next game just to troll habs fans.
Of course not. He's only one of the leading scorers in the entire tournament with the least time on ice per game of the top 10 scorers. Why on earth would he deserve more ice-time?
Team USA doesn't really want to win, why else would they not give 22+min + 2min PP time for Gally, clearly he is only one with talent and only offensively gifted forward and those idiots on team USA just want to play less talented scrubs. I think its because of he is somewhat russian.. Clearly a bias agaisnt him. He would be scoring a lot more than Nuge otherwise.

Jacob Trouba has been a stud. He reminds me of Bogosian (the good version).

I don't think it's unreasonable to lament the 2nd leading scorer in the tournament not playing with talented linemates, reduced ice-time (ES and PP) and not playing his natural position (while a scrub Kuraly is playing center..). Your hyperbolic statement meant to mock Habs fans is pretty ridiculous. There's a reason to be upset and while I don't think that this thread is the legitimate place for the outcry, there's also a reason to be encouraged since he produces despite all of this and despite not even playing his best hockey. I think those refuting the lamentations of the Habs fans are jealous fans around the league. Although, I don't blame them, if a fan base was being this outrageous in a public forum about one player, I'd give my shots too.
It's understandable how Americans are obviously focused on team success and results while Habs fans are more focused on Galchenyuk's success.
It's also understandable, but a tad bit unfortunate, that Americans probably don't mind Galchenyuk being used "unfairly" by continually reducing his icetime, shufflng all lines except his and keeping him with Kuraly as long as their team wins.
Kind of funny how important results are because Galchenyuk is still tied for team lead in scoring and was 2nd in tournament scoring prior to today's match (i.e. results/points/production). I guess only Galchenyuk's production has a 1 day expiry date. No wonder Miller, Gaudreau and others seem to be given every chance to succeed and a clean slate after a poor game. Heck, even Grimaldi was given a lot more icetime after being benched.
