There are a lot of crazy tweets going around - was this from anyone reliable?

Not sure of their reputations. These were posted in the HFBoards Business of hockey forum, NEWS LINKS ONLY thread:

Lots of signs individual teams, players gearing up. Hopeful? Just in case? Educated guessing? Know something?

wyshynski 8:45am via TweetDeck
Hearing 2 other NHL teams have staff called back or on standby. That's 4 total. Again, could be precaution. ****'ll move fast after deal.

Oh how I forgot that TV companies love to spam the same commercials every 5 mins. At least there is hockey on TV again.

Well the NHL just made an offer.

If there's one offer that saves the season, it's this one. Not getting excited though

Just realized we've gotten 104 days into this lockout and I hadn't posted this clip yet

No, we really don't. If anything, it at least opens up negotiations.

Why would the NHLPA reject this deal? It seems a little too good to be true...

Because their main beef with the other proposals was the make whole (ie. rollback) provision. That part hasn't changed at all.

NHL source told me a deal needs to be done by January 11. If not, the 2012-2013 season will be cancel.

The ONLY thing the PA cares about are the superstars; nothing else. The PA executive will not allow the rank and file to vote on the offer if they think they can get more out of the owners: getting back to playing is not a priority for the PA at the moment

I just don't know how the PA expects to get more than this. It's only getting worse from here, they should take what they can get. Start with this offer and try to squeeze a bit more out of them and get on with your lives

Part or me wants a season so badly but the other just can't stand the little games the league and PA have been playing anymore.

As I said in another thread, this latest offer is probably going to be the last one. If this 1 gets rejected I think you can forget about a 2012-2013 hockey season.

The PA is like any other union, they fight for every single member of the union. As long as some guys have an issue with something, the PA is going to fight on their behalf.

Anyone who doesn't understand this needs to realize that if it was different, the union would be in some serious cow dung. They would have problems of their own that would have to be paved out before even thinking of a new CBA.

Don't cloud your minds people. There is no way that the PA only looks after a handful or the top dogs of players.

One thing I know for sure is that no matter what the NHL proposes the NHLPA will counter with another. It doesn't matter if this is at the negotiation table or as part of an official submission. It is the only way the Donald Fehr can claim that he got the best deal possible. If the offer is a tweak off of the NHL's last proposal and the NHL can live with it they'll take the deal. The tons of money already lost by the average Joe current player (and even many lost / shortened careers) will never be recovered but the Fehr bros. can claim a victory to pad their resume.

At one point in late October or early last month, the players could have had an 82 game schedule with little to no real money lost to current signed players but for the sake of a few contract period adjustments that mostly only affect elite current or future players they forfeited at least 1/2 of a season so far and potentially a future 50% share of reduced revenue caused by the extended lockout.

Weird that a lot the players are already leaving their teams in Europe. Guessing something is maybe closer than we think?

Not feeling very optimistic about a counter-proposal personally.

I won't even be ecstatic if there's a season. Maybe a bit happy, but I dont care anymore.

For what it's worth, the NHLPA has rejected every other offer a lot quicker than this one.

Greening too, according to an Aalborg teammate. Phrased it like it was Ottawa's orders as well, which can't be true as we know they would follow rules and regulations.

Where did you find that?

I can only see something saying he is still in Aalborg
