Great effort by the Swiss team and a heartbreaker to lose the game after leading up to 90 seconds of the end of the game. I am sure the guys will soon appreciate their accomplishment nevertheless. Gratz!
Don't know if anyone else noticed but little draft-eligible Mirco Muller had a hell of a game. He has vision and poise well beyond his years. 1st rounder?
Indeed, Müller is having a great tournament and I'm sure he won several places in next years draft by this display. Maybe late first-rounder, surley a second-rounder.
Canada has 4 teams because they have 617,000 registered players. (According to hockey Canada)
In comparison Czechs has 96k, Swedes 70k, Finland has 56k, Russia 64k, Swiss 26k and Slovaks with 9k.
The more correct number is the number of junior players due to the multitude of ways each country considers "a registered player".

I said that too, played like all the third period and overtime, every other shift atleast. Scouts love that. Probably a 1st rounder or early 2nd
Not to sound daft, but I haven't been following this thread: why are the Russian fans angry?
At everything, the difficulty at which Russia is having in games, mistakes, one comment which I think is rather harsh to make to a bunch of 18 and 19 year old kids, "No Russian team has the right to play like that." Former coach Bragin is on making comments,Coach Bill from the Russian Olympic team is making comments, not necessarily in a negative light...but just the sports websites are filling up with content and Russian fans are screaming... it will get real ugly if Sweden wins tomorrow. Real nasty.
just anonymous trolling, I would avoid those "comments" sections. They are usually littered with bored anonymous teenagers and casual "sports" fans.
maybe you're right...there are a few regular posters there that are ok...but if it gets to heavy into Russian slang, I can't read it anyway...Russian posters on those sites are not speaking the language of Pushkin.
for some reason TSN has all the rights to televise this stuff.
TSN is the host broadcaster of the U20 WHC and will be for the next several years under an agreement with the IIHF. They are producing and directing all the broadcasts in Ufa.
A gold medal contender is playing like crud on home ice, and fans are outraged?
Fans will be fans! you're right! But hey, sometimes for whatever reason your team will not have it, it won't come together and you'll suck...After Canada's first 2 games I accepted that...picked the Americans to beat us and was already working on my lineup for Sweden next year.
