I think the world would actually end if Toronto won a Cup

NHL - Buffalo...like others have said Buffalo needs to win a title. In either sport really.
NFL - Cleveland...so much heartbreak for the Browns in the last 50 years, and utter ineptitude since their rebirth
NBA - Clippers...there are other teams that haven't won in the NBA obviously but it would be interesting to see the buzz in a big market like LA for the non traditional team
MLB - Can't really pick one. Obviously the Cubs are the easy answer but part of me is amused by their historic ineptitude, the billygoat curse and all...though part of me does want them to win to get everyone off Bartman's back (the way the Sox winning finally got people off Buckner's back). It would also be nice to see a market like Pittsburgh or KC win again, maybe Milwaukee or Texas/Houston for a first time.

Hockey: Toronto Maple Leafs (Bias aside, you'd be a legend)
Football: Tennessee Titans (Biased decision, but they haven't won since merger)
Basketball: Cleveland Cavaliers (Just to give the city of Cleveland a winner)
Baseball: Chicago Cubs (Would make a Stanley Cup in Toronto look like child's play)

Nope.

I didn't want to pick a team I like, and I didn't want to pick a team that has already won the cup. I don't care about being a legend. I like seeing hockey grow. There's still potential in seeing it grow more.

Columbus has a good, loyal fanbase, and while I'm not a fan of them, I also have no qualms with seeing them succeed. Plus, they gave us the Kings the final piece that won them their first cup; I wouldn't mind returning the favor for them. I know other teams have had longer streaks, but they've also had up and down times for the team where they have been good.

Columbus has, for the most part, struggled a LOT, with minimal success (they've still yet to win a playoff GAME), but the fans keep coming.

Now did you want me to make some sweeping generalization about you based off of what you've said, or do you want to reconsider you assumptions about people who picked Columbus?

NHL: (Not counting the Canucks) Maple Leafs (For the reasons everyone else mentioned. If I was a player, that would be the ultimate to break that drought.), Sabres
NFL (Not counting Seattle): Bills, Browns
MLB (Not counting Seattle): Cubs (I mean come on! It's time. Would be even bigger than a Leafs win.)
NBA (Not counting a return of the Sonics): Clippers, Cavaliers, Knicks (Because NY would go nuts.)

Brooklyn. Was between them and the Rangers but I think the Islanders need it more.

Probably the Flyers, playing with the likes of Giroux, Voracek, Hartnell and Simmonds would be dope.

Vancouver and Cleveland aside:

NHL - Ottawa. Allow the Senators to finally be a respected franchise, not just the ham caught between the Habs and Leafs buns.

NFL - Buffalo. The fans simply deserve it, having endured decades of collective suffering. Plus puts the nonsense about moving the Bills to an overdue rest.

NBA - New York. The Knicks - So they could finally be back. For realz

MLB - Chicago (Cubs) - Self explanatory.

Actually scratch the Flyers, I'd bring one to Washington or Ottawa.

Outside of Detroit.

Vancouver, Toronto or Buffalo. You would be a king in those cities forever and they would truly appreciate it.

Cleveland
MLB team - Indians (last championship: 1948. World Series appearances 1954, 1995, 1997. All ended in crushing heartbreak, 1997 especially)

NFL team - Browns (last championship: 1964. Super Bowl appearances, none. Three AFC championship game losses in four years to Denver, two of them in crushing fashion. The Browns also left town in 1995, and have since been replaced by an abortion in orange and brown)

NBA team - Cavaliers (last championship: none. NBA Finals appearances, 2007. Along the way has been everything from Jordan's shot over Ehlo to LeBron's "decision" to be a gutless SOB.)

NHL team - None, since the Barons lasted only two seasons before merging with the next-worst team in the league.
Funny how you mentioned the Cleveland freaking Barons, but failed to remember Buffalo's NBA team the Braves, who became the Clippers. Nice how you mentioned the Indians heartbreaking losses and failed to mention SB 25 Norwoods miss, and Brett Hull's "No Goal" crap. All the respect in the world to Cleveland, but your post is pretty biased man. The Bills were the most successful AFC team in the 90's, had 4 Super Bowl appearances, the Sabres have one of the better regular season records in NHL history, and both have nothing to show for it. Both cities could use a championship if you ask me. It's close, but at least call it like it is.

depends on the captain and the circumstances of the cup, I'd say if Buffalo wins it while Ruff is still coach he will have a statue for sure and he is slowly creeping up on Al Arbor for most regular season games won by a coach with a single team

Arbor = 740 wins
Ruff = 565 wins

and Ruff has coached through two lock outs now, if it wasn't for both lockouts he would most likely be over 600 wins
