Pensions weren't even in the discussion 6 weeks ago. Still a stalling tactic by Fehr, but this is within reach.

Sure Fehr would never stall the negotiations when they are close!

Pensions are a pretty big sticking point I would say....

I will strangle Fehr if this stalls the talks especially if the terms are not reasonable...I can't imagine Bettman's face right now....ugly smug mug that it is already.

I have to agree with Meltzer's take today on this whole strike...one massive insult to the fans with all their posturing.

So does Briere return if the season starts or does he really stay in Germany?

He'll be back, he's got a contract with the Flyers that usurps the one in Germany.

Breire's agent said he had an out clause once the NHL starts, he will be back with us when/if we play this year.

Their pensions aren't huge..

Each year in the last CBA only 60m was taken out for the pensions

I think one mistake people do is take personal offense to one's fandom because of the lockout. Apathy is much less stressful. Things start to happen in these things when people don't care.

There's one sticking point they haven't discussed yet.

Olympics participation.

We don't know that.

Probably was one of the first things they gave the players

I'd imagine it's the furthest item from discussion.

Considering the other issues at hand, it may be something they (the league) just glazed over.

From NHL player: "How they respond to our latest proposal will determine if we disclaim or not." Huge meeting tonight to say the least

It can but it won't.

One thing was rumored was a 1 for 1 swap between winnipeg and columbus. Non playoff team for another non playoff team

wasn't Winnipeg automatically going to the western conference after the first year in the east following the move from Atlanta.

No, there is no rules for automatic relocation that I know of.

The NHL tried to do the realignment but the PA blocked it

Have been meeting for over an hour. Good, because they need to meet long if they want to bang out a CBA tonight.

Dreger face looks white and pale I hope he isn't sick.

tsn.ca now has a notice they are going to cover the NHL press conference live on TSN or on TSN radio, there is a feed for computers to listen to but it brings up 3 different feeds

TSN Toronto, TSN Winnipeg, TSN montreal

Toronto and montreal are doing the sugar bowl game

Winnipeg is doing JIM Rome show.

not sure if they will break to NHL from what they are covering, but the stations they have that are suppose to carry the NHL isn't
