Don't expect any word until the tournament is done.

1.22 combined for the 5:30 AM and 1 PM showings of the Slovakia game according to Mark Masters/Bob MacKenzie's Twitter I believe.

It is according to bob:

Under the circumstances, some truly amazing ratings for CAN-GER game on TSN on Boxing Day (Dec. 26).

The most incredible, IMO,was an average of 372,000 viewers for the live 4:30 am ET start, peaking at 575,000. Middle of the night across CAB

We've had some NHL games on TSN that average in the same vicinity as what we had for the CAN-GER game.

Encore presentation of CAN-GER at 12 noon ET had average of 849,000, peaking at 1.2 million viewers. That's over 1.22M combined. Unreal.

Have we decided if the numbers include PVR views?

My guess is it would in some cases. When you PVR, your box turns itself on (at least mine does). If TSN is the channel it happens to turn on to, that would count, IMO.

EDIT: Did a google search, apparently DVRs count towards Nielsen ratings.

I've been watching the noon re-runs, 4:30 is just too damn early for me.

I'm sure the ratings are down compared to when it was in Calgary or Ottawa, but we still have our die-hards and we always will.

I wonder what their figures are like for the pay-per-view online streams? I would assume not that great considering how easily one can find an illegal stream. I still don't get the reasoning behind the new for charge format. I suppose they couldn't get appropriate advertising to cover the streams due to the time difference, but when the tournament is usually such a cash cow, they could surely have absorbed the shortfall.

As for the TV numbers, I'm surprised they're even that good. Other than a handful of people, I don't really know anyone who's been waking up early, or paying much attention at all for that matter.

I think those are some pretty good numbers for junior hockey.

Considering the population of Sweden is around 9.5 million, those look like great numbers.
