The U has produced the best D player in each of the three defensive layers of this recent era. Wilfork d-line, Lewis linebacker, Reed secondary

The funniest part is he was never even accused of murder, yet people still keep saying it like it's the truth.

Gonna suck to see him gone. Easily one of my Fav players of all time. Made watching defense exciting. Curious as to the timing of this as well. Trying to get the players amped?

Make sure Flacco wins it for him so he won't be "rattled"

If L.T can make the HOF, sacking qb's and smoking crack with ******, Ray will be fine. If the two guys Lewis were indicted with were currently rotting away in prison, I'd be more inclined to think Ray stabbed two people and then got his friends to take the blame.

I didnt like the guy because of the team he played for. But there is no denying just how great he was. He demanded the best out of everyone around him. If you dogged it around him, may God have mercy on said player.
Great player. First ballot HoF.

Great player, and also an inspirational person.

Love his interviews almost as much as his game.

That's a very debatable comment. Lewis I agree with, the other two, not so much. You can make a good case for both buys but off the top of my head I'd say Wilfork is behind Peppers, Kevin Williams, and maybe both Allen and Freeney for D lineman. Reed could lose out to Woodson, Bailey or Polamalu. I'd have to think more on that one.

The numbers aren't though. Corner and Free Safety are 2 different positions, so they're tough to compare. Revis will be right there too in another 5 years if he can stay healthy and stop whining about contracts

Soon Monday Night Countdown will have an analyst for each individual player on the field.

As a ravens fan who rarely misses any home games (gonna miss this one ) i'm gonna be teary eyed. The man is a legend! And aside from Unitas and maybe Ripken (Phelps during Olympics) probably the most loved athlete in Baltimore. Man, i'm gonna miss him, the best i've ever seen.

Yep damning with faith praise there.

Absolutely, but praise none the less. When you are accumulating a body count, you are either going to end up in jail or get your act together. Lewis got his act together.

By contrast, look at OJ. Just like Lewis, he was accused of the murder of two people. OJ never admitted to his involvement and was found not guilty. Lewis admitted he was involved in the killing of two people, struck a plea deal, worked with the prosecution and came to a settlement with the victims families. He owned up to his actions and sought to make amends.

After that, Lewis seemed to get his life together and stopped hanging around thugs with criminal records. OJ continued a downward spiral that eventually landed him in jail.

Ignoring what Lewis did won't make it go away and it will always follow him, rightfully so. He seemed legitimately contrite and, 12 years later, appears to have been a model person ever since. He broke out of his spiral, which is more than many can say.

That is utter BS.

-A fight broke out.
-Two people were stabbed to death.
-The weapon used was a knife exactly matching one bought by Lewis' friend days earlier.
-Victims blood was found in Lewis' Limo.
-Limo driver testified that Lewis told his friends to not talk to the police
-Limo driver stopped at a fast food joint and watched them throw away Lewis bloody suit.

....but most of all...

LEWIS ADMITTED TO ALL OF THE ABOVE. After initially lying to the police, he flipped, admitted his guilt (but said he wasn't the one who did the stabbing... that was never determined) and worked with the prosecution against his (former) friends.

Raw deal my ass.

Funniest part about this post is that it is wrong.

Lewis was charged with murder. Those chargers were dropped when he struck a plea bargain to work with the prosecution.

He was accused, he was charged, he plead guilty to a lesser charge. That is the actual truth.
