I don't get how the players haven't caved yet. Yeah, the league's manhandling them, but why would guys who play maybe 5 years in this league hold out in solidarity for the guys coming up to take their jobs? The players can't win and they never could. Just play already.
Why does anyone listen to Kypreos, his analysis is blinded by a severe degree of Union bias.
The only mistake Renaud Lavoie has made in his lockout coverage was retweeting a fake PA account about a press conference. Other than that, he's been the best to follow. Also, I've liked Tim Panaccio (Flyers) for coverage.
Talks resume at 10am and lets face it, this day could go from ending the lockout to making it unlikely that any season will take place. The pension issue is really not something that should cause this deal not to get done. It's a minor aspect that shouldn't make a big difference. All the problem is that the PA is trying to have the NHL partially responsible for covering the players pensions, instead of the PA having to cover the entire bill.

So after all this over the next 48 hours the NHLPA will vote on whether or not to allow Fehr to file a disclaimer of interest. On the Team1200 it was even said that a 30 game season would be better than none. This is nuts. Never mind a 1 season boycott, they won't get me back in the rink for years if they pull this stunt.
Anyone else think Schultz and Yakapov will be gone after 3 years from Edmonton? Don't know why, I just have this feeling.
Schultz will go to Dallas and Yak to Philly.
Going on my gut
When Schultz bailed on Anaheim, could he not have just signed with Dallas immediately if he intended to join the Stars in three years? It wouldn't be much harder to crack the Dallas defence than Edmonton's.
