League business are not suspended if you got the money you can buy one of Garry money pit any day you want!

Only mostly true. Sure you can buy it, but the nature of the CBA affects the market value of every franchise, so holding off and waiting until you know exactly how much he's prepared to pay for the Phoenix Coyotes is something I expected Jamison to do.

We all know GJ and his "investors' are waiting for the new CBA. That's why we still have to wait and see. One thing is for sure, with this new CBA, he'll quickly have to prove (2 weeks max ) he was serious all this time.

There will be casualties to some small market teams after this new cba is concluded, and what that means is one relocation to Quebec.
Les Nordiques will return within a few weeks

"within a few weeks" "imminent" - Reminds me of the infinite Coyotes sale related deadlines

Besides, I don't see a team moving this winter.

Wait: So I'll have to decide between buying a Quebec Nordiques jersey and buying a Hamilton Steelhawks/ Lynx jersey? Life ain't fair, man.

This the CBA signed what does this mean for Quebec City? Does help them? Will the Coyotes be harder to move or easier to move?

Well it's not signed yet. Though at the same time the window to finalize the Yotes sale is going to close either way.

So if Jamison can't close by the end of the month, the league may need QC to put some more pressure on the folks in AZ.

Or they could decide to give him a few other "two weeks" extensions!

Hate to say it for Nordiques fans, but..... thinking they should start hoping for an expansion because, unless Jamison's deal falls apart suddenly (which, let's face it, wouldn't be the most shocking thing out out of Glendale these past three years), that's their only chance for a team in the next five or so years.

Interesting, Gary's press conference has a french NHL logo. After making NHL web side in french as well, now this. Does the NHL envision expending its presence in Québec?

Maybe.

More likely, it remembered that The Hags do play in Montreal.

Does anyone know how credible is this guy? http://translate.google.com/translat...s-se-fera.html

He mentions that two unlinked sources told him that Bettman doesn't like the Quebec market and he dislikes Pierre-Karl Péladeau (potential Nordiques owner), he didn't like Winnipeg any more than Quebec and that he wants to keep his US TV contract strong and that adding Quebec and Winnipeg helps nothing about that. If he is actually credible, then I wonder if this means the only way to see the Nords return before Bettman departure (possibly 2017-18 if his contract isn't renewed in 6 years?) is a Coyotes relocation? (Since no other team seems likely to move anytime soon)

Have you seen that blog? Eklund might also be throwing crap at the wall but at least he got something a bit more professional looking. Hell my own freaking blog on the same platform look miles better and I haven't worked on it in a year or two.

Well if Bettman doesn't like PKP it means he really want to keep hockey in the dark ages. I mean Quebecor would be great for the NHL, the sky's the limit of what they could do.

Bettman doesn't like 29 of the 30 owners and that only because he's number 30. He does not have to like any of them but they have to like him at least enough of them must. This is a business not some country club. Even the Balsillie mess was mostly business a lot of peoples made it more personal than it really was.

It's a business that he likes to control, the guy is the ultimate pupeteer. He brought most of the owners that are in place, he has complete control.

Yes the Nordiques will be back soon. Guess he changed from totally positive outlook to a totally negative one in matters of months.

Who is that guy. Never heard of him. Probably some geek in his basement. I think Pierre-Karl has had nice talks with Bettman, for him to invest that much money in the new arena....

Then maybe he had some sort of feud with PKP or Quebecor so now he is negative about them? As for a reason for not liking PKP, it could be because the rule of thumb to get a relocation going (like Thrashers to Winnipeg) is silence. However, at the end of random press conferences that are not related to hockey, PKP sometimes said "Vive les Nordiques" and he weared a Nordiques jersey at a bike marathon once. Also his newspapers sometimes talk about the Coyotes or Nordiques, although far less often than before and most Coyotes news are positive for Arizona fans.

That said, when he or the mayor are asked any news about the Nords, they refuse to answer and you see that the mayor has an hard time restraining himself from saying anything. The mayor usually states that his job is to get the arena done and anything Nordiques-related is Péladeau's job.
