I cannot believe Rutgers gave that game away. Wow.

I hope Gary Nova never plays a snap for Rutgers ever again.

That's not true at all. Rutgers defense is far superior to Louisville and if not for a ******** illegal man downfield call, they would have beaten Louisville. Rutgers wouldn't have put up the points Ville did tonight, but Florida would not have moved the ball at all offensively against them.

Teddy Bridgewater was crippled for the Rutgers game and still outplayed Nova. If Bridgewater was healthy for the Rutgers game they win comfortably.

Florida would have eaten Nova alive far worse than Virginia Tech did too.

You're underestimating Rutgers defense. It's possibly the strongest in school history (2006 being the other). Khaseem Greene might be the best defensive player to play there and Logan Ryan is a stud corner. Rutgers dominated UL for most of the game but they beat themselves with a bad fumble, dropped passes, and an awful penalty call. Even if Bridgewater was 100% healthy, I think Rutgers defense is good enough to shut him down.

Also, Florida's defense looked like crap tonight. I don't buy that they would have been any more dominant than Va. Tech's. (I don't think that's even possible, anyway). And fwiw, Rutgers horrible offense torched Louisville's defense multiple times.

Florida's defense is as good as Rutgers. That's how good Teddy is.

And I don't care how good Rutgers defense is because they would have needed a defensive score or possibly 2 to beat Florida.

I really can't see how Rutgers fans can think they would win this game after the way their team finished the year. They aren't a good team.

Their offense disappeared at the end of the season, but I'm not sure how they're not a good team. If they don't beat themselves they would have beaten the Louisville team you're complementing. I don't think they're as good as we thought at 7-0, but I think they were on the same level as Louisville. If they played 10 games, Rutgers wins 5.

Youre focusing on offense, but Louisville's defense was pretty bad. They nearly lost to USF and Cinicinnatti and did lose handily to Syracuse. I'm not buying that Louisville was so much more superior than the rest of the Big East (Rutgers, Cuse, Cincy).

You're using the if game for Rutgers which doesn't work because then the ifs go the other way with Teddy being at 100%. I'm done though. If you think Rutgers would score on that Florida defense then power to you. What they did against VT suggests that no logical person would think that.

No, I said their offense would struggle against Florida. But since Rutgers defense is superior to Louisville's, I think Rutgers would put up 10 or 14 points and give up a similar amount. Again, I never said they would win. You said they would "get their **** pushed in", and I think that's ridiculous. Louisville is not that much better.

Rutgers couldn't beat Louisville with an injured QB AT HOME. Let's remember that too. Nor could they beat a 6-6 VA Tech team. Or a lousy non-bowl Pittsburgh team.

The bowl game probably wouldn't have been as bad a blowout as we feared it might have been beforehand because of Rutgers' defense, but they still don't win. Not with a guy at QB who makes Mark Sanchez look competent.

If Rutgers had even an average QB they would have beaten Kent St and Louisville.
Unfortunately they have Nova, one of the worst QB's in college football, no exaggeration.

Exactly. They have an awful QB and still outplayed Louisville and should have won. Louisville deserved to win the Big East considering Rutgers had multiple chances to win it and blew it, but I don't see Louisville being vastly superior. The Louisville defense isn't anywhere near as good as Rutgers this year.

I can't believe how many people think ND even has a cance tonight. The best teams they've played this year were Stanford, USC, and Oklahoma and Stanford is the only team I'd consider to be a pretty good team. Stanford took them to OT, USC was a goalline stand away from beating USC without their QB, and the handled OU pretty easily. Pittsburg too them to 3OT and they only beat Purdue by 3.

Everyone keeps talking about ND's effecient defense. Rutgers had the #4 defense in the NCAA and I wouldn't expect them to beat Alabama either.

Alabama is so far beyond what any of the teams ND has played this season. It's going to be an awful game to watch, IMO. I'd take Alabama -17.

Well a disappointing college football season ends with more blegh. I can't root for either Alabama or Notre Dame. At least hockey is back.

They're just not a great team. It's funny that when Boise St. went undefeated, everyone said they play no one (even though they beat a highly ranked Oregon in two separate instances) and therefore shouldn't be elgible for the champ game. Then Notre Dame plays no one and gets penned into the title game.

BCS is so screwed up. So glad it's overwith soon.

Don't like either team, dislike ND more, so Roll Tide!

But, I think ND has a decent chance at winning tonight.
It will not be a blowout Alabama win.
