I was being facetious in that thread as well. I don't know why anyone could believe I was being literal about such a claim.
Yes any goalie can have a bad game. I'm aware. But I'm looking at this from a different standpoint. Yes I'm being a bit of a Gibson Homer but it's also annoying that it's assumed that USA's defense coming off arguably their most dominant performance are going to play like a bunch of traffic cones. It's not just Gibson I'm defending. And does anyone truly believe that these Canada homers predicting a 5-0, 6-1, 7-3, 8-2 blowout are doing so based on objective and unbiased analysis of the two teams? Let's be real. I don't even think the US will win. I really hope they do, but short or a collective mental breakdown on the part of the team I don't see a blowout being likely. But Canadas talent will most likely end up being too much.
Gibson is baws. It is ridiculous how confident the team is in front of him.
Can't blame them. He's cool and calm, and he's making those big saves you need. This game could look a lot different if even one or two of those saves isn't made. Canada just can't get any momentum, and he looks to be frustrating them.
