They won't call ANYTHING against the Americans, yet they'll call the tiniest things against Canada. These Euro refs are a joke.

Rattie with one. 3 more please.

AND, the officials may have now screwed up that goal. Nice whistle-for-no-reason! Now, I can understand the penalties - international play, etc. But this garbage? This is AWFUL. Ok: so they allow it - it's still ridiculous that they blew the whistle for no reason, calling the goal into question. Gah.

There's no way that shoulda counted. Yeah they screwed up the whistle, but that doesn't matter you cannot score after the whistle...

I agree - the whistle was bad, but allowing the goal was ALSO bad, once the whistle had been blown. Terrible officiating moment.

stop it guys if they wouldn't have allowed the goal you would be pissed too

you have 13 minutes left, everythings possible.

And again: Lovely for me to see you guys playing our european role of staying up until 4-5am in the morning and feelink like "hell why am I doing this? They're loosing anyway and I have class in 5 hours".

I'll save this moment in my brain for the next NHL season.

Not going to bother with the main board because I assume Canadain fans will be looking for a scapegoat. Those first two periods were complete and utter domination by the US and the score reflected the play. The officiating was just fine and there was no one player to blame because everyone sucked. Subban was completely screened on the first two goals Which makes sense because our entire team was standing around for two periods.

In these single knock out tournaments anything can happen and as I post this we might come back but we came out flat and the US came out flying.....man did we get our ***** kicked!!!

Agreed. It was actually the best officiated game in the tournament, very fair both sides, until the double screw up on CAN's goal.

US came out hungry and moving their feet, Canada was standing waiting for something to happen. Had trouble handling the attacking US defense, no answer for that. Why Canada did not try to stretch them and take advantage of the aggressive D, IDK. I don't think this Canadian team is very well coached, tbh.

Canada has come alive here in the 3rd, but it looks like it'll be too little, too late.

Yup, Gaudreau ends it.

US has played a very good game - they definitely seemed to want this one more than the Canadians.

Well, time to unabashedly cheer for Trouba. GJF: you guys over there are definitely troopers for watching hockey at these crazy hours.

Gaudreau with another one. I'm starting to like that kid, hope he's the kind of guy whos got told by everyone that he'd be too small to make it in the NHL and still makes it in the end. I love these players.

Games sealed. Gratz USA a very well earned win. Let's hope they win against Russia/Sweden.

Hear Hear!

This was an incredibly unimpressive game by Canada.

Now we're just waiting for Sweden to humiliate the Russians, then I can have mixed feeling about Trouba vs Sweden in the Finals!

Shush you... class in 4 hours now haha

back on topic:

sigh... makes you wonder how this game would of been like if:
*no cold legs with bye
*Murray>>>>>>Murphy
*Hudon>>>>>>McNeil
but still they all played terrible

it just upsets me because I would have been fine with a win for the Americans, if the Canadians didn't look like complete ****heads

Can we all admit now that Scheifele disapears when it matters? He was a terrible pick, and its about time Jets fans can admit it.

I saw him
He was on the ice
I wouldn't blame the top line too much. They carried the team pretty much every other game.

Yes, but when it matters Scheifele was garbage. RNH, Strome and Huberdeau all had way better games.

You can say the same for RNH and Huberdeau.

In fact, I think Huberdeau was Canada's worst player by far. The play died every single time the puck hit his stick.
