Drouin I think is one of those players that is just going to exceed at all levels, like eberle. He's just so smart. And he's not exactly small.
I agree with you here, give MacK top line minutes with RNH and Scheifele and he looks as good as Drouin imo.

For the Leafs, I definitely wouldn't take Jones over MacKinnon, but as another team I might. He's got the opportunity to be as dominant as any dman in the NHL right now. Reminds me alot of Pronger, big and rangy, solid skate for his size, offensively gifted. I think theres a good chunk of teams who would take him #1.

I'll be very happy if we're in a position to draft any of MacKinnon, Jones, Drouin, Barkov, Lindholm or Monahan. All seem like studs to me, I'm sure the odd one won't be, but at this point I'm very high on all 6 of them.

MacKinnon
Drouin
Jones
Lindholm
Barkov

Jones and Drouin are interchangeable, but Drouin reminds me too much of an Eberle/Giroux type player.

I think whoever said Mackinnon is like a more explosive Tavares makes a reasonable comparison. He won't be a Crosby caliber, but I can see him being right there with guys like Tavares and Stamkos. That said, I see Jones as the next Pronger caliber defenseman. He's not as dirty or nasty, but I think he'll be at that level of 2-way dominance...

I'll just say this...Pronger always struggled in international hockey. It doesn't suit his game.

I think Jones is much better than he's looked, especially considering this is a much more competitive WJC than before (due to the lockout). He will not drop past 2nd overall.

I still cant fathom why Max Domi the second leading scorer on the best team in junior isnt being talked about. This is going to be an extremely special hockey player.

Domi helps the Knights out quite a bit . Without him they still would be a top team , but not the team they are now .

He's one of their best players. I've been wondering the same thing, but apparently the scare is his diabetes.

Reminds me alot of Kadri.

Kadri climbed up the draft board, Domi will probably do the same.

Will go from a mid-first to a fringe lottery pick if he keeps it up. Wouldn't be crazy to see him in that 7-12 range.

I really think when the dust settles, its Jones and MacKinnon head-to-head for #1 and #2. With his play recently, I think Drouin has now put himself solidly in the top 5 and maybe #3. As good as he has looked, still think scouts will drool at the overall package that MacKinnon and Jones offer up. At this point, probably not much to choose between either of them and it may actually come down to what the team needs who is picking #1. Unless he has a really good second half, I see Monahan slipping outside the top 5. Just hope the Oilers dont get another bloody top pick.

2. Mackinnon - Outshone by his Halifax line mate, but still has obvious skills that will translate to the pro game.

3. Drouin - Continues to prove he is one of the better prospects in the draft, underrated defensive game. Clutch player.

4. Monahan - IQ, no weaknesses to his game. Does everything well. Winner.

5. Nichuskin - Flashes of dominant power game, major projection but love his size and skill. If he gets it will almost be impossible to stop.
You do really hold a grudge against big European Cs, eh? Yeah, Barkov didn't have the best imaginable WJC-performance, but he was still very solid, especially considering he is one of the tournament's youngest players. I mean, you look at a young lad who has all the necessary tools to be a number one center at the NHL-level.
-elite Hockey-IQ and instincts
-elite two-way game
-a good and accurate shot
-brilliant passing
-although he won't lay out huge hits, he is very effective at using his size and body offensively and defensively
-excellent puck-skills
-high effort and hard work
-the very important ability to fill his coach given systematical task almost perfectly, which demonstrates his great discipline

The only thing he needs to improve on is his acceleration, that will come with time, training and adjustment to his big body though and certainly isn't an aspect that will hold him back at the NHL-level.
He even has much more potential than Grigorenko, your big enemy from last year's draft, who by the way displays his NHL-level tools and already mature game with every match that passes more and more. Look, he already is a top player in one of the top 3 European leagues at the age of 17, outplays NHLers this season and outscores nearly every Finnish player and prospect of all time at his age.

Note: I don't care where he is supposed to go in this draft right now, I'm talking about his NHL-projection, which is certainly up there with the best of them in this draft. In terms of talent he deserves to be ranked top 3 in my opinion.

Hopefully my English is understandable.

If he was 6'2" and 210 lbs he would be in the top 3 conversation.

The only real issue I have with this is that Nichushkin is before Barkov/Lindholm, and this is coming from someone that loves Nichushkin more than most.

Agreed. All are extremely skilled and majority are centers, excluding jones ofc.

Another name I want to throw out into discussion if we get a pick past the top 10 is Anthony Mantha. Already 6'4, power forward type putting up way more than a PPG.

Looks like a really interesting prospect. Has great speed as well, similar to Kreider maybe?

Seth Jones with 3 back to back to back defensive gems to solidy his rightful place as #1 pick this June.

Much better of late, and now that he has done it against the Canada, it should silence the critics.

Projecting very much into a dominating defenceman.
