We have to move past that. They look incredibly dominating. Gally will dominate in due time.

I think Galchenyuk still played great. He really used his body well just sitting out in front of the net. Just because he didn't score doesn't mean he didn't play well.

He saw that Kuraly isn't great at distributing the puck so he changed his game and just hung out and caused havoc in front of the net. That's what a smart player does, finds ways to be effective.

I thought he was great.

Gally as mad skills and maybe better suited for high iq players, the thing i can blame Galchenyuk is just he didnt adapt his game to the rest of the team when the whole team rose to the occasion (whatever the style played may be) he couldnt seize the moment. But no biggie. Not worried one bit.

I still don't understand why Gally hasn't been put in the first line

Thought he actually looked solid and dangerous tonight. Not amazing by any stretch but I'm not worried about his play.

I can't remember when it happened in the third but some Canadian player had the puck behind the net and Huberdeau was buzzing around trying to get open and Galchenyuk was all over Huberdeau not even looking at the puck carrier. He just made sure Huberdeau could not get open.

It was real smart D at that point in the game. He really seems to do the little things right which goes along with his fantastic skill set. That's huge in my books.

I'd have loved to seen him deke out the whole team numerous times but seeing Galchenyuk for the first time, I'm more impressed in a way. He plays to win and really thinks about what his role should be from game to game. That's huge hockey IQ right there.

It was Gallys best defensive game by far in this tournament. At one point in the second, he was covering kuralys man in front of the net (since he was nowhere to be found) and when the puck roll back to his defender he covered him too

I preferred his game today than against Canada in the previous game.

Galchenyuk: '[In the round robin] we kind of played looking at them ... those star players on their team, but today we didn’t care at all.'

His confidence just bursts through in every quote.

Galchenyuk played 18 shifts for 13:59 TOI. ES - 10:42, PP - 3:17. He registered 3 shots and no points, with an even rating in a 5-1 victory.

I've seen the boxscore, but didn't see a second of gameplay. How did Galchenyuk do overall? I saw someone here said he was good defensively, shadowing Huberdeau, so that's awesome. How was his play otherwise?

While I appreciate the dedication many have...I think analyzing his every shift might be a tad excessive, no?

Paralysis of Analysis

Anyways...on to the game, I thought Gally played very well today. One of his better games all-around if you ask me. I can't wait to see this guy at training camp with the Habs.

Eh, it seems excessive but then you got to remember that you could find those statlines for every single player.

I wasn't referring to the stats, I was referring to the numerous tweets from that person detailing what Gally does on the ice during a shift.

Like I said though, on one hand, I admire the dedication it takes to do such a task...but it's a bit excessive

I know Gally has one more game left...but for the most part, if you're a Habs fan, you have to be happy with his tournament so far. Yes, it would of been great for him to get more icetime or more of an opportunity, but that's not uncommon for most 18yr olds at the WJC's.

You might not be on the team with the most talent, but you might just be on the better team. That's hockey.

At one point Barber had the puck in the neutral zone and he could've easily passed to Kuraly for him to enter the zone, but instead he chose to keep the puck, deke a Dman and get the puck in the zone himself to set up Galchenyuk. I lol'd at that.

four things on Gally:
1- forget the Gally vs Collberg, it will be USA vs Collberg (Gally is not playing enough to see a Gally vs somethings)
2- The way Gally is being used, we know at least one things, He is a team player ,good thing to know
3- Gally didnt have the chance to shine, true, but at the end of the tournament, he will have at least a silver medal, and if we are lucky he will be Goldchenyuk, that a realy a good experience to have!
4- Finaly, Gally will play for Habs this years, that you like it or not , because with he new salary cap, the Habs will have no choice to use him to be able to do the salary cap.

Go Habs Go, or Gal HAbs Gal
