Meanwhile, you have Canada with the bye having to cold start their engine in an elimination game facing an always tough opponent. Russia with a spectacular comeback win is probably super pumped and confident as well, with momentum on their side. It's more likely now that they'll beat Sweden.

They should use the same format as the ATP World Tour Finals in tennis, no byes. Have the team with best record play the qualifying team with worst record.
That's just an excuse. Canada didn't have like 4 days off, I mean really, what are we talking about here? A day? two? Their performance was just horrible. They looked bad. I only saw 2 periods but I can only imagine the 3rd being as bad as the first two.

Sweden absolutely dominated Russia in the first period.

2-1 now. Russia scored a ''puck luck'' goal and almost just tied it.

I rather see a tight intense game so I don't mind. But I like Sweden a lot, they were my favorites to win this tourny.

Good stuff. Hope it's a good game so I have something to watch tonight.

Looking forward to waking up tired and groggy on Saturday morning, though!

Could explain why he wasn't looking active in 5on5. You don't move as much on PP. He has looked better today though, I have to say.

Russia taking over.

Hit the net Collberg. That was a golden chance.

And now it's tied. ****.

Russia has horseshoes up their butts. Ridiculous.

Stop hating, they battled hard. Lucky bounces happen to every body. A shot from the point being deflected in is very common. Ever since that, there's no luck involved. Swedes haven't been able to capitalize on some chances, Russia has battled back nicely and are generating their chances too.

Good game.

That's an awesome period.

Grigorenko doesn't show up for big games.

They should have lost yesterday to the Swiss. Sweden should have blown them out of the building in the 1st with how dominant they were.

Grigorenko with the clutch, game tying goal.
Galchenyuk with no points today even in a blowout. Timmins

I just hope it calms down people with their analysis of Grigorenko. In no way should he have drop the way he did in the draft. No freakin way.

Still, it's ridiculous that he slipped that far down in the draft. Sabres must be thrilled. We'll see in a few years how that draft plays out.

That was embarassing by Team Canada. I don't expect them to win the gold every year, but to lay an egg like that in a medal round game is horrible. Not sure if it's bad coaching, poor leadership or what but taht was a sad looking group today. US worked hard and came to play, but Canada looking like a deer in the headlights made them look good.

That entire draft was bizarre though. Grigorenko and Forsberg had no business being out of the top 10, and even top 5. Teravainen is just behind them. And not to mention the likes of Collberg falling to the second round.

It's like everyone was allergic to skill last year.

I feel like people fall in love with balanced players, afraid to take a risk.

Still a high risk pick. He hgas as much chance at being a KHL star as an NHL star.

True but I'm just speaking in terms of "complete package". I like Gally, Grigorenko, Forsberg a lot more than Yakupov in terms of maturity and what they bring to the table.

But then again, I remember liking Kyle Chipchura...

Why can't they have sudden death OT?
