Lovie seems to be getting a lot of love for a guy that has made the playoffs once in six years. Mind you Buffalo seems committed to hiring guys that have been fired by other organizations.
Lovie has been pretty successful with the Bears, he has a higher winning % than Ditka, Marv Levy, Jimmy Johnson, and a lot of other highly thought of coaches, he hasn't made the playoffs much recently but his teams have still won for the most part

The Bills need hire someone who can fix that defense. Too much money and high draft pickers invested in a group that stunk last year.
Jason LaCanfora is trying to confirm whether or not Andy Reid is headed to Kansas City to interview before heading to Arizona. If he were to land in KC, that means Pioli is out.

Lets see how much of a disaster Lovie is at his 2nd stop before comparing him to coaches with much more experience
Ditka for example has his record tanked by his horrid Saint teams
As Bears coach he simply blows away Lovie Smith as far as accomplishments
Lovie Smith
81-63 during 9 yr stint
3 Div Titles (05 , 06 and 10)
1 NFC Champ game losses (vs GB)
1 SB Loss (vs Ind)
Mike Ditka
106-62 in 11 yr stint
6 Div Titles (84 , 85 , 86 , 87 , 88 and 90)
1 WC appearance (91)
2 NFC Champ game losses ( both vs 49ers)
SB Championship (85)

BWC, thoughts?
I like his work with Rodgers and overall the GB offense
I do worry about his ability to improve the Bears OL as the Packers OL is pretty bad as well ,, Curious how much of that is because of the blocking schemes/personel input from him
But overall I like his potential as a HC
Also seems to be highly regarded as a QB Guru with Elvis Grbac , Kordell Stewart and Tommy Madduox having there best success under his guidance (All 3 making only PB appearances while QB's under him)

He's been successful on one side of the ball. That offense has just been too poor for too long though. Overall I don't think Lovie is a bad coach, just a little surprised that he's going to be seemingly rehired right away.

True, if the goal is to turn the defense around, he's as good a choice as any. You just have to hope the 35-28 losses don't turn into 13-10 losses.

That's what sorta plagued Tony Dungy in Tampa Bay, he concentrated one ONE side of the ball which was defense. Make no mistake that Tampa defense was stacked who he coached there (Sapp, Brooks, Lynch, Barber, Nickerson, etc) but his offense wasn't that great.
It wasn't until he got into Indy is where he got his offense, he fixed the defense there and finally paid off in a Super Bowl championship.

Saints O.C. Pete Carmichael is currently interviewing for the Bears' head coaching job, per league source.
Ugh ,, Dont want
I want Bears to have a pass attack but not to abandon the run ,, Absolutely no interest in a guy who gives up on running ball which has been MO of Saints
Two days ago, there were breathless reports out of Arizona that Andy Reid was very close to becoming the head coach of the Cardinals. Now it doesn’t even appear that the Cardinals are the leading candidates for Reid’s services.
Reid interviewed with the Chiefs on Wednesday and ended up delaying a scheduled meeting with the Cardinals in order to extend his meeting with the Chiefs. And ESPN’s Chris Mortensen said on Mike and Mike in the Morning that the events of the last 24 hours suggest that Reid is getting close to a deal in Kansas City.
“The Chiefs were trying to close a deal with Andy Reid,” Mortensen said. “At this point I’m going to be surprised if Andy Reid is not the Chiefs’ coach. Now, I’ve been surprised before, but there’s a lot of activity there. Some would say, ‘Why Kansas City over Arizona?’ One thing is, in Kansas City, Clark Hunt, the owner of the Chiefs, he’ll let Andy Reid build this thing the way he wants to build it. And if you know Andy, he wants to be able to basically pick the entire organization, set up his personnel. . . . The Chiefs are willing, and Clark Hunt is willing to do that.”
The same Schefter who had him as a near lock to be in Arizona though.

Cardinals officially have requested permission to interview Steelers OC Todd Haley for HC job, as @kentsomers and @mikejurecki reported.

Wow. I feel really bad for Cards fans if that happens...they don't deserve that kind of torture.

Oh please, please hire him! I want that clown as far away from the Steelers as possible.
A beat reporter who covers PSU for a paper in Harrisburg said on the radio today that if the Eagles offer BOB the job he will take it. Would really like to see him work with Foles.

Suddenly the Reid/Vick combo is looking pretty good. Cardinals fans better hope the owner has a brainwave and makes Cowher or Chuckie an offer they can't refuse. Next thing we'll hear is that they've cooled on Haley and Eric Mangini is the new front runner.
