Well if it's one thing I've learned today...it's that predictions matter very little. Some Canadians thought they were gonna beat the US by a good margin and some guy argued that the American team would be fatigued, a simple matter of physique. The complete opposite happened.

In Sweden's semi, the final score looked more like I had thought. A close game...the game itself was far from what I had in mind though.

I will make a homer vote for Sweden but I actually think Sweden will have a very tough time. USA as a slight favorite.

Well that's swedish media for you.

Would actually be a bit of a miracle if Sweden won considering all their injuries.

Should be a good one. Both teams play with a strong team concept. 4 - 1 US.

Pretty interesting fact: when it comes to WJC, USA has not lost vs the swedes in 17 years...

Should be an easy win for the Swedes. I think russia was a harder nut to crack.

Guess is 4-2 Sweden in regulation time.

USA Sports

95% of top tier athletes in the USA concentrate on basketball and football, with the majority concentrating on football. If these athletes spread out and played other sports it would be scary.

Can we be all "Noesen would have done wonders for our offense the first few games" or something like that? If we had Noesen, we'd dominate every other team?

The problem with not having these players are that they would have been the back bone of the team. Very reliable D's with offensive upside that would keep the "boat" from rocking. The swedish team totally lost its way when Russia scored its first goal. They stopped passing the puck and started going solo instead. (basically playing like the russians without having the russian talent)

Sweden was lucky to last to the shootout... I

m very disapointed with the swedish coach who cant seem to cool the boys down and keep them playing " as usual". Hopefully they wont be as nervous in the final since they will be huge underdogs and maybe they wont play as horrible as they did the second half.

I think the Americans will have the edge in this one. It's unfortunate all the injuries the Swedes have especially to some key players.

Hoping for a repeat of course, but it's going to be very difficult to win against a very good team USA with their defense and goaltending. I'd give Sweden a 40-60 chance of winning.

Is it wrong for me to cheer for the US?

4-2 USA Trouba and Johnny Hockey combine for 3 goals and 4 assists.

I'd say the same about the US. Always had much respect for their national team and they've really impressed me in this tournament.

Heart says Sweden will win but my brain is convinced that the Americans have the upper hand. It'll definitely be a bit of an upset if we win, considering the terrible record we've had against the US at junior levels lately.

The Canadians better be cheering for the US after losing 5 - 1 to them.
This one will be a hard one, just like the one we had against Russia.

Yes, Sweden is not deep enough to go unrocked by these losses.
