Brown didn't score. Sudbury up 4-0, Leivo has a goal.

Have to think Toninato will get a look at next year's US WJ team.

How about Rupert as 4th line centre?

Don't see an NHL future for Broll, personally.

Also don't see a ton of upside in Ross, though I'd like for him to pan out.

“I think everyone knows that I have never kept an 18-year-old, I don’t think (assistant GM) Dave Nonis has ever kept an 18-year-old,” said Burke. “This kid is a lock to go back to Moose Jaw, except for one thing, and that is that our coach picks the team. And he (Carlyle) kept Cam Fowler as an 18-year-old (in Anaheim)."

Burke said David Broll of the Soo Greyhounds would be the only other junior player invited in a deal with the Canadian Hockey League that limits the number of players called to NHL camps in the event the lockout ends.

He also speaks about every Leaf prospect in the tourney, Biggs, Nilsson, Rielly and Sparks.

Good article and repeats most of the stuff he has said before. I hope he keeps true with keeping Rielly back in the WHL. As far as nilsson good to see he is getting recognition but I hope he gets more puck skills in the SEL and from the tournament.

The question that has to be asked

Would Trouba now be considered a better NHL prospect than Reinhardt or Rielly, would you trade Rackel and Gibson for Biggs?

Definitely not.

Unless you love small sample sizes... in which case... I trade any Canadian dman for Reilly or Murphy on team USA.

And if a Leaf prospect dominated in the WJC, you would whine about sample size being too small and we shouldn't get excited.

Guess you'll have to wait another year to figure out if that will be the case.

Trouba has been phenomenal so far at both ends of the ice.

Up in the air on Broll atm but Ross will make the NHL once he's able to physically fill out and get used to being a pest in a mans league. Ross and Biggs on the wing together has been in my head for a little while. Still a few years away from that however.

I'd trade Biggs for Gibson so fast. Been a fan of this guy for a long time. Best goalie in the CHL IMO.

No to Trouba over Reinhart or Rielly, but yes to Rakell and Gibson over Biggs at this point.

Who knows in the future though?

Trouba is better than Reinhart, in almost all aspects of the game.

I won't lie, I criminally underrated Trouba since the get go now that I look at him play. He's something good for the Jets.

Atm yea it seems like he's the far far better prospect of the second half of that draft. TBH the guys I wanted with the second first rounder was Rattie and Philips, didn't even have gibson in my sights but damn wish we did and have him now.

I doubt the Jets even thought he'd progress so quickly. He really must have worked on his offensive game over the summer. He's the definition of a two-way defenseman with basically no flaws in his game. Great skater, mobile, tough, physical, great shot, a leader....not much to hate about the kid.

I questioned his offense and all around play so I guess I didn't favour him.

Scoring is never the issue with Connor, I am more concerned his other aspects of the game, his defense, his strength and so on.
