As far as the great tough guy debate. Do what the Knights do and just call a kid up let him get a few fights in and call another one up.
Agreed. Over the past 3 seasons we have seen Rychel acquire Tarini, Clouthier, Clark, stick with guys like Bilcke, Bowen all of whom are quite limited and that isn't including the host of other plugs that have gone through those doors. I know some believe you need some super tough guy but with the decline of fighting you don't need those guys. It's not like Windsor needs a tough guy when they face Guelph, Saginaw, Kitchener, Sarnia. Even if you played London with the way things are right now you could get away with it because like you said they call a guy up in those cases. So out of those teams I mentioned you play 26 games that's including London in that group. The east is notorious for a softer brand of hockey teams like Brampton, Niagara, Barrie and Peterborough don't engage much physically. So right there half your games are against teams that don't push the envelope with fighting. Windsor still leads the league in fighting by a clear margin. It's interesting you mention the team is soft and can't win on the road but I thought having intimidators like Clark, Blicke and Bowen would have this team be more aggressive and play not afraid? Or at least that's what I am told by the people that are pro fight guys.

one 100% correct

your tough guys now a days , are the guys who bring u energy , kill penalties and play against the other teams top players

there is no more fight... now its the shut down guys which you can call your " tough guys "

i would rather have 3 kenny ryan's and 3 adam wallace's

Is the feeling mutual that Khokhlachev wants to be traded and Windsor wants to trade him? Looking forward to hearing your tidbits.

Interesting about Pavelka, the only suitor I can see is possibly Oshawa, they only have 1 import player so the Spits wouldn't have to take one back. In regards to Koko don't take Nemecek in return he's a 95 and you already have 2 1st import selections.

For this season it wouldn't hurt, we could use the body in the lineup. We can always release him/ trade him before the Import draft if the decision is made to go with 2 new Imports.

The Niagara Ice Dogs import pick will have no real value as it will be in the mid 30's unless they lose Hamilton and Strome to the NHL and go in sell/tank mode the rest of the season.

That's the key if Hamilton and Strome go to the NHL or get moved the pick could get better. The pick has slowly gotten better through the past month. I have confidence that Barrie, London, Owen Sound will all finish ahead of Niagara. Oshawa, Belleville, Brampton, Sarnia, Plymouth, Guelph, Kitchener. Like you said the pick can be in the 30 range. Dangle that pick and a player to a team like Peterborough if they still have their import pick and move up or if a team like Sudbury still has their import pick for 2013 trade with them. Sudbury already has 2 95 imports in Kubalik and Kahun both who have been quite productive. You could still end up with a top 10 import pick and a top 20 pick. That is certainly good enough to get some good players and if you deal Khokhlachev maybe Larionov will help you out and send one his top guys to Windsor during the import draft.

I'd surmise that Khokhlachev is forcing the move because otherwise Warren would want to keep him to put Kerby on his wing for the rest of the season.

Maybe you guys hear more than I do... but why would Oshawa want Pavelka and trade Altshuller? He's 21-12 and has a 2.62GAA and 0.913SV%. Seems to be doing a good job for them so far. I don't see how Pavelka would be much of an upgrade.

Me neither but I would do that deal in a heartbeat from Windsor POV

From what I hear coach Smith not exactly enamoured with either of his goalies despite Altshullers appearent good numbers, sometimes stats don't tell the whole story, perhaps he is more confortable with Pavelkas ability to come up big in games when he is really needed

Legend if you get Altshuller do you move DeKort? I like DeKort but he clearly won't develop here if you get Altshuller who would be #1 next year. Seems like Kuchmey could probably swing the door open for him next year instead of DeKort.

It's possible of course the Spits added Koko back to the negotiation list back in October. I imagine back at that time Rychel envisioned putting him on that list so he could get him back in Windsor. Of course circumstances can change.

I think they would trade Altshuller. and keep Dekort and Kuchmey, giving them an 18 year old and 19 year old in Kuchmey, instead of 2-19 year olds with Altshuller

LOL!!!!!!!!! From what you hear? That is a big big crock of crap. If Smith was unhappy with Altshuller I don't think he plays him almost every game and oh ya he is near the top of the league in his first real number 1 season. The only reason he would even want Pavelka is for a backup if Altshuller goes down. Nice try though.
