Anyway...USA should be pretty big favs going into this. It doesnt matter gold or silver, I happy either way. I am pretty sure Sweden can give the americans a good fight.
The only reason I bring it up is because over half of the players that will play tomorrow have played in those games. I don't think it guarantees anything, but it is of interest.

Sweden was lucky to last to the shootout... I

m very disapointed with the swedish coach who cant seem to cool the boys down and keep them playing " as usual". Hopefully they wont be as nervous in the final since they will be huge underdogs and maybe they wont play as horrible as they did the second half.
Don't get me wrong, I've been very impressed with Sweden considering how they have had such success minus their best players. That's a fair observation, saying that Sweden would beat everybody 5-0 with those guys is something else.

Go Sweden!

If USA wins, which I expect they will, then I'll be happy for Gibson.

Sweden has really flown under the radar, but I think the US will keep the momentum rolling and win it 4-2

This should be a good game, of the teams I have seen, I think Sweden is pretty capable of handling the USA speed, they have also looked very fast in this tournament. As usual keep away from penalties if you're the United States and continue the great puck support system. The US has played well in every game thus far I really hope they have one more left in them.

Not feeling very confident ahead of this game given the results of the last few U18 finals between these two teams, and especially considering the guys we are missing on defense due to injuries.. That said, our guys have shown a lot of heart reaching the final and Rönnberg is a quality coach at this level. We have nothing to lose now and being back to back champions would be spectacular. Heja Sverige!

I do worry about the Americans suffering an emotional let down.

The success the USA has enjoyed against Sweden worries me a little. Also much like the Team USA in the buildup this Swedish team is playing much better hockey, I hope they realize that.

It would be so great if the US would win 2 gold medals since Canada last won one.

As a Hab fan i'd say the team wich gives more icetime to a Habs prospect after the second period will get my cheerings for the third.

Not all Canadians, but there's a lot of cocky Canadians that always pull the Canada is better than the US in every which way card. I just can't stand those people, so it'll be great to throw that in their face.

Sweden got problems with Russia when they did speed up, connecting D and F, we'll see how speed will matter in the coming game. On the other hand, Russia was really fast in those instances when they caused havoc in the Swedish team, I wonder if the US can reach that level of skating combined with teamplay (no jab at the US, just saying that Russia was good in this aspect in parts of the game vs Sweden).

This final only proves how good the Czechs were this time. The only teams we lost to are the finalists

Difference between the U.S. and Russia is that Russia only realized after half the game they need to put pressure on the Swedish Ds to find success. USA will go after the Swedish Ds right away and Sweden hasn't really faced that high forechecking yet in this tournament. Key #1 for us is not to get hemmed into the corners in our defensive end, because USA will thrive from there, get pucks back to the blue line and create havoc every single time in front of the net.

Crashing the net in a most literary way might not be a bad approach for Sweden.

Yeah we don't get that kind of thinking over on this side of the Atlantic.
