Favre played till he was 40. If Cutler finds the right coach, system, and O-Line, that could extend his career. I wouldn't count him out at 34, but the success of the team will be a factor of that.

Testaverde played into his 40s too I believe. Doesn't mean he was a franchise QB at that point.

cutler relies a ton on his athleticism, in part because his mechanics are so unorthodox. i don't think he'll be very effective as that starts going away.

Interesting RT @ChrisTrapasso: Can confirm: #Bills head coaching job is Ken Whisenhunt's if he wants it.
I wonder if Lovie was used to pass the Rooney Rule or if they really like Whisenhunt.

Lovie has interest from 4 teams. I highly doubt he's being used for that and only that.

Ironically, the Cardinals now are a lot like the Bears a majority of Lovie's years here:

* Solid Defense with talented defensive players
* No real talent at QB; "Kevin Kolb is our Quarterback" to be uttered
* Solid special teams return man (Patrick Peterson)
* Shaky-at-best offensive line

Lovie will fit right in! Although I'm not sure thats a good argument for hiring him.

If the Dolphins are going to let Long go, trade Hester for his rights, even throw in a late pick too if needed. They can sell it as they got something for Long. Hester is obviously a Miami guy and maybe he could recapture the magic in the AFC.

With all of the talk about fixing the offense, I'm starting to think there's no way they draft a defensive player in the first round. Definitely think they go offense in the first round. Hopefully a few quarterbacks are over drafted and a guy like Jake Matthews or Eric Fisher falls.

Yeah, Smith will definitely go before us. Barkley has a good chance to as well. I know I'm going to be rooting for him at his pro day for that very reason. Tyler Wilson should be in the mix and maybe if we are really lucky, someone falls in love with Nassib or somebody else. Tebow went in the 1st round so anything is possible.

Freaking Jake Locker and Christian Ponder went 8 and 9! Hopefully some bad teams get desperate. We'll have a good idea what the plan is in the first round after free agency. If they sign a left tackle, they probably don't go O-line in the first....same if they go after a bigger money tight end.

Long, Clady, and Alberts are all free agent left tackles. If any of them aren't franchised, the Bears need to go after one. Can use Webb or Carimi as a swing tackle, draft an interior O-lineman in the 2nd round.

Typically I'm not crazy about going TE in the first round, as good ones can sometimes be had in later rounds, but I'm starting to find myself being OK with taking Eifert from ND in the first if our O-Line is addressed via FA, or the proper guys don't fall to us.

I JUST saw this floating around Facebook. Just when you think Rex Ryan and the Jet's couldn't get any weirder. Wow.

It does explain, though, what was behind Rex Ryan's unwavering faith in Mark Sanchez. Apparently, it was love.

It's like basically adding a #2 receiver for Cutler to hit reliably, and one that can draw some rush off of him. It's really a perfect fit.

I was gung ho about Eifert in the 1st, but I think you may be able to get someone as good as him or close to as good as him in the 2nd. I think you can find a good tight end in the later rounds.

I like that he is 6' 6". We need a really tall TE because Cutler has excellent ball placement; I can see why he likes throwing above DBs to big receivers.

cutler's ball placement is **** compared to guys like rodgers and manning....he needs a big receiver because he CAN'T place the ball accurately.

Fauria is a good pass catcher, but can't block. He's a 3rd round option.

Ertz will probably go early 2nd. He's less dynamic than Eifert though.

I think we should trade down in the 1st, pick up some extra picks and take Eifert.

We'll see how these guys run at the combine.
