Rönnberg for Sweden? Really can't find a stand-out player in our squad.

Which is why I think it will be Gibson unless he gets lit up.

Probably Gibson or Trouba who has impressed me more really.. For it to be any of the Swedes.. he has to come out with a tremendous performance in the Final. There has been a lot of good players on the Swedish team.. Collberg, Forsberg, Lindholm, Wikstrand, Sandberg, Nilsson and so on.. none has been spectacular but still good performances. I've been talking about the depth of the swedish team all tournament long and it clearly shows here. They have all performed well.

Can't overlook the leading scorer of the tournament Joel "Army of One" Armia

Not trying to undermine what he's done though. He didn't look terrific in his first few games but he's helped the team a lot lately. It really is a relief.
Sure sounds like you are.

I don't think he should be MVP, imo it solely belongs to Gibson at this point, but don't discredit what Gaudreau has done. I really wish Grimaldi would have been moved off that line sooner because I'm sure the scoring race wouldn't even be remotely close. You'd also have alot more people pumping Miller's tires, he and Gaudreau have worked great together.

What because I mentioned that he didn't look good in the pool play and now he looks incredible? I'm not gonna change my mind about that. It can't be all Grimaldi's fault. I hate it when people do that. Kreider can't score because his linemates suck. Same with Gally. Same with zibanejad. I can go on and on. At some point you gotta expect these talented players to elevate themselves and chip in a few with their own skill. But Johnny hockey did so. In a big way. I'm not undermining what he did its just their were two impact players who came up big all tournament.

Tourney's all star line?

There's MVP-thread but not this one.

I'd think it's something like that:

Gaudreau - Nugent-Hopkins - Collberg
McCabe - Trouba
Gibson

Tough to choice a center. Miller's been great, also Dano and Lindholm. Just think that RNH:s points give him a place in all star line.

Gibson if the bad guys win.
Gibson if the not-as-bad guys win by a close margin.
Trouba if the not-as-bad guys rack up a bunch of goals.

Just hard to choose swedish player, because it's so stable and good. Maybe Forsberg then.

Not sure I'm willing to put any swedes in the all-star team, despite being in the final. Feels like noone has displayed a great individual effort, it's been a team effort, for both good and bad.

Forsberg has perhaps created more scoring chances than any other player in the tournament, he has not been very effective though but he could have a shot.

Gibson

Total homer. But honestly, it's not that ridiculous. Go Sabres, Go USA!

And definitely no Armia because of those last games's points. A lot of stupid penalties and played only one game which mattered much. You are overrating his points. Those games were hawaiji-hockey.

I'm not really disagreeing with you, I'm just saying that both final teams have been represented on the all-star team since 1996. In 1995, Russia finished second to Canada and that tournament had no Russian all-stars, but it was a round robin-tournament.

2012, Sweden defeats Russia: 2 Swedes, 1 Russian
2011, Russia defeats Canada: 2 Russians, 2 Canadians
2010, USA defeats Canada: 2 Americans, 2 Canadians
2009, Canada defeats Sweden: 3 Canadians, 1 Swede
2008, Canada defeats Sweden: 2 Canadians, 2 Swedes
2007, Canada defeats Russia: 3 Canadians, 1 Russian
2006, Canada defeats Russia: 2 Canadians, 1 Russian
2005, Canada defeats Russia: 3 Canadians, 1 Russian
2004, USA defeats Canada: 2 Americans, 2 Canadians
2003, Russia defeats Canada: 2 Russians, 3 Canadians
2002, Russia defeats Canada: 2 Russians, 3 Canadians
2001, Czech Republic defeats Finland: 2 Czechs, 3 Finns
2000, Czech Republic defeats Russia: 1 Czech, 3 Russians
1999, Russia defeats Canada: 1 Russian, 3 Canadians
1998, Finland defeats Russia: 2 Finns, 2 Russians
1997, Canada defeats USA: 2 Canadians, 2 Americans
1996, Canada defeats Sweden: 3 Canadians, 2 Swedes

as for Gibson/Subban, Subban has been outstanding in his last 2 games, I don't really think you give it to the goalie with 2 losses against the teams that matter and his only wins over Germany and Slovakia
Grigs has been much better that Galchenyuk.

I feel like a broken record saying this.

Edit...just noticed the date of the posts. Disregard.
