Would you guys move Paajarvi for Kulemin? I remember Jeff Marek saying that the Oilers may have interest in him for Yakupov's sake...
It's an interesting thought. Wouldn't be totally against it. Would go with the whole getting proven NHLers to help the team along.
Problem I have is I have no idea what his value is to Burke and Burke more than likely isn't going to be desparate to move salary anymore. With two potential buyouts, teams like Toronto all of a sudden can breath a lot easier.
I'd be interested in a deal around those two players but I'd be hesitant to do it straight up.
I'd assume so would leaf fans and Burke. Especially considering Kulemin is playing well in the KHL. Granted he's on a good team, he's still producing and Burke could be quite hesitant just to move Kulemin.
Heck I wouldn't be shocked to see him want more than just Prv.

Yeah who are TO's candidates? Komisarek and who? Is Finger still on the books there?
Also if the buyout wouldn't happen until next season what are the parameters for salary for this shortened season?
As a side bar as I'm on Hockeydb, wonder if Malkin convinces Shero to add Mozyakin. Smaller player, but lighting it up with Malkin. Isn't Pittsburgh always looking for cheaper top 6 help?

Liles and Grabovski. Regardless they aren't going to be in that much cap trouble as connoly, lombardi, and Macarthur are also off the books after 12-13.

**** they lose a few of their premiere centers, all they will have left after that is JVR.
Why buy him out and then resign him, doesn't make sense. Rather have VV or Lander playing then Horcoff. Horcoff will want at least a 2yr contract and if you resign him it'll end up costing the team more. Play him or punt his sorry butt, or bury him in the minors next season.

You need to go back and re-read.
And Horcoff at 2mil or so would be light year better than VV and Lander.
On the potential of a MPS for Kulemin straight up swap...
The general vibe on the boards here would be that Kulemin is a big winger with 4 years of NHL experience who's scored 30 goals. MPS is a near bust who's toiling in the AHL.
Oilers would have to add something just to get into the conversation for Kulemin.
Oilers main priority has to be C and D anyway so I don't think that trade is even all that beneficial for either side.
My personal short answer though would definitely be yes to that deal.

I'd like to add Kulemin for sure. I wonder if Burke bites on a deal for Kulemin and Gunnarsson for Paajarvi, Lander, Klefbom, and a 3rd? Could always change Klefbom to Musil depending on which guy there higher on. I think making this deal gives us a good chance at the playoffs. Lineups would be something like:
Whitney-Smid
Schultz-Gunnarsson
Petry-Schultz
Potter
Dubnyk
Khabibulin
I could see Burke turning down the deal though on the basis that they dont have that many dmen signed for this season or next. I could see the Oilers turning it down because Kulemin can walk in a year and a half.

You have to give to get, Klefbom hasnt proven anything yet at the NHL level. We'd be getting a solid LW who's scored 30 goals in the NHL, and a solid top 4 PMD that can log be minutes.
