Not really. Downgrading your best scorer for cap space that you can't use (no FA's to sign right now) just makes the team worse. Vanek's contract ends soon, and he'll get a cheaper deal after, and we'll get that space without making an already weak top 6 even worse.
Fair enough. I've just witnessed some posts calling Vanek overpayed.
EDM and COL get bent over
Yakupov + Hartikainen for Luongo + Coyle
Coyle is obviously a much better prospect than Hartikainen and a #1 starting goaltender is obviously much better than another prospect who may or may not bust no matter how skilled or what pick he was drafted. Edmonton does this easily.
No thanks from a Van perspective, and Calgary gets away nicely with only giving up an aging Tanguay and unproven offensive center in Backlund for Granlund.
The rest isn't bad.
I suppose Tanguay/Backlund could be swapped with Baertschi instead.
From an outsider's perspective this actually looks relatively fair.
Thanks.

Where do I sign this franchise crippling deal?!
Please note - the exercise is to make a FAIR deal for 5 teams, which some people actually gave it an honest shot and were able to do. The exercise is NOT to screw over several teams while making your team better. lol
I get your POV but Stasnty isn't what he used to be, Whitney when healthy is a really good player, Gagner isn't all that interesting I agree but Paajarvi is.
Didn't look as bad typing it up, and as for us getting the significant advantage I don't see it that way as I would take Garrison over Parenteau and then Stajan isn't even a proven top 9 forward, spent a ton of time on Calgary's 4th line, then the 2nd though late (if there is a season) it still more valuable than usual, and possibly just as if not more valuable than Stajan.

Tanguay just isn't what he once was or else the deal would be alot better, alot of these have there sides that certain fan bases don't like so I do appreciate you giving it a good effort.
CBJ: Roman Polak, Nick Leddy, and Jiri Hudler (for Jack Johnson and Steve Mason)
CHI: Jimmy Howard (for Patrick Sharp and Nick Leddy)
DET: Jack Johnson and Steve Mason (for Jimmy Howard and Jiri Hudler)
NSH: David Perron, Patrick Sharp, and Ian Cole (for Shea Weber)
STL: Shea Weber (for David Perron, Roman Polak, Ian Cole)
From a Nashville perspective, no way. Ian Cole is a decent top 4 guy, but Perron has just topped 50 points once, and has been injured a lot recently. Sharp is a great addition, considering he kills us every time we play, but I'd want someone younger if we're trading Weber.
Nobody else trades an elite player except for us. Though Columbus and Detroit both give up some good pieces, we are giving up a top 5 defender in the league. Maybe I'm just a nitpicky homer. I also think that Columbus or Detroit don't do this either.
Johnson is gonna be a nice piece for the BJ's and it seems like he likes it there, maybe he'll finally give that franchise some stability.

Again with the nitpicking, but Smith is what we've been waiting for since Radulov left, no way we trade him for just another defenseman.
Good work though, it's really hard coming up with something that all teams are happy with. I might try and do one if I'm not busy.
NYI get a winger to play with Tavares. Nj gets a real center. NYR get a shutdown center to play behind richards. Pitt gets a top pairing d-man to play with Letang. Phi gets a potential number 1
NYI give up the least valuable asset in the deal and get arguably the best one back? Rangers give up arguably their best d-man for a guy who might be our 2nd line center if he can beat out Stepan? Pass.

Probably true, but I doubt the Isles would even do it. They need a 2nd line center more than they need another top-line winger. Doesn't work, IMO.
With him having 48 games left to play for the Ducks at most, no one will offer full value for him with the possibility he could simply walk after half a season. Mike Richards would be an excellent return.
I feel STL gets a bit of the short end, so I tried to help with a pick.
CHI gets a new goalie giving up only Hjammer, and dropping 2mil in cap. CLB gets a good young winger spec for an un-needed D, DET gets a more experienced D to help fill the void left by Lidstrom (help, not fill entirely), NSH gets Hjammer without losing a roster piece (we have an excess of two-way F specs), and STL gets a good young D+pick for their backup goalie, who will be wanting a raise very soon.

Uhhh, Chicago says "**** no". Chicago wouldn't move Patrick Sharp alone for Howard, nevermind adding Leddy.
