Only the IIHF could think of something like a fifth place game.

Anything else you need to tell us?

It's about ranking and next years groups.

I completely agree. At least I have the link to IIHF site's statpage in my cookies.

And after many possibilities in PP both score on 5vs5. Looks like a strange game.

No idea, seems both teams decided it's time to improve individual stats

Actually i was kidding to myself ... about that.

Magnificent team that at the end won ... 1 game !!

Swiss tradition : plenty of good losses.

This result is interesting as many were calling the Czechs chumps to downplay the U.S. domination of them while building up the Swiss. The Czechs can play; they just got steamrolled by the U.S. as did the Canadians.

Well, I was definitely hoping for a Swiss win, but I like both teams, so the result's fine by me Too bad I didn't see more of the group A games, and have been limited to a single Swiss and Czech game.

Actually, no. Basketball tournaments sometimes also have such games, if I'm not mistaken. But yes, it does seem a bit redundant to me, as well.

Is u17 challenge a IIHF tournament? They had a fifth (seventh and ninth too?) place game.
