ill said it once and ill say it again these pick dont mean poop if we r going to draft like we did in the 2010 and 2011 seasons

i like us getting picks and using them in a trade but i would still like 2 or 3 draft picks in the 2nd round in 2014

i feel trading away

bateman
ebert or bowen - would like to see ebert go with hes gold pack with him
marchese
koko - if we get him back
johnson or clarke - not both just one
pav

with those players gone u still keep your core with rychel, vail, sieloff, murphy and you should get a boatload of picks plus 1 or 2 impact players

but if ur going to do it .... do it all the way dont do it half way

LMAO!!! You sound like that London fan who claimed that this year you can already hand the Knights the ohl title and the memorial cup.
Pretty sure you need more than a Monahan to even be considered a cup contender. Spits lack front line scoring, depth, shutdown defence, goaltending....not sure how Monahan solves all that for you

You're in a good mood

Just getting to this Maletta stuff now...

Good kid, has the tools, just never got going with Windsor. He came in with a Greg Nemisz billing, but turned into more of a physical presence with some offence. Injuries didn't help at all, mind you.

Hopefully he can find his game in Niagara; lots of time to figure it out.

Good luck to him and his family. Had the pleasure of hanging out with them on many occasions during road trips. Looking forward to the game in Niagara in March.

Lol you London fans have been putting out really funny offers yourself, don't get me wrong this is a bad proposal because Monahan is worth more, but you guys think you can get him for your spares and a draft pick...if Monahan was on a better team and didn't get a 10 game suspension he would be fighting for scoring title with Galchenyuk, Griffith, Strome.

Knights77 I don't think anybody on the selection committee is upset with Saskatoon getting the Memorial Cup. The WHL will be raking in the money since the arena sits 15,000+ fans, it's going to be a huge money maker. Considering a lot of other arenas in the WHL are either extremely small or play host to NHL teams therefore eliminating themselves from the bidding process (Calgary, Edmonton) I think Saskatoon will work out just fine. Of course you will have some butt hurt fans and general managers of other teams the league only wants to make $$$$.

I really thought this was going to be Maletta's breakout year. Rough start to his junior career with the injuries and all.

I wish him nothing but the best of luck in his hometown!

I agree with you, everybody is under rating what it will take to get monahan. My points werent at the trade itself, it was at the guarantee that by acquirin one player wins you the cup, or will get you to host it (both ridiculous).
I think Monahan stays were he is.

From a $ standpoint i agree, they will make out just fine. But part of the selection is to ensure that it is a competitive team and one that has the assests to add pieces should they be 'falling behind' during the season (see Rimouski a few years ago). In this case 'toon had had pressure to make acquisitions as they are in a tough division and want to be seen as worthy. The cup committee doesnt want the tourney to be overshadowed with talk that their choice barely made the playoffs.
Windsor has the facility and the city deserves the cup. They need to put forth a strong bid and part of that is making a few acqusitions along the way too. The team is not one elite player away from being a threat. There are a few holes (which you are well aware of as you discuss them to great lenghts on this board). I for one, want to see them get to host for two reasons. 1) they deserve it (they have already been punished for the wrong doings) 2) i dont want the knights to get it because it would further the viewpoint that the league favours them.

Open the flood gates, cover your eyes this things going to get ugly...Not a surprise Sarnia is probably the second hottest team in the league behind London.

Wow... you blink and it's 4-0.

They can't even get anything set up its really just sad to watch, turnover after turnover, terable Defence, Terable Goaltending, no offensive threat...looks like they have no passion, no determination......So when's the next trade WR?

The wording from the reduced penalty Sept 24th/2012...So now instead of losing three first round draft choices in 2013, 2014 and 2015, as well as a 2nd round pick in 2015 and 2017 – the Spitfires are only going to lose two first round draft choices in 2013 and 2016 also they will lose a second round draft pick in 2015 and in 2017.
It will be tough to build through the draft this year, looking at that. They still could grab someone in the 3rd round that can make this roster next year. Losing those high draft picks is pretty devasting to this team. Windsor drafts well, they could have added at least 2-3 guys to crack the team next year. I think they need to get a 2nd round pick somehow.

Which is why I suggested that WR needs to get our own 2nd back and one of the 21-25 picks.

Not a chance the bulls make that one! We need scoring not another underacheiving d-man. Maybe something involving Vail or Koko???? Love to see him on the big ice!

Anyone know why Bowen isn't dressed tonight against Sarnia? Spits only have 16 players dressed, thought he could at least be a warm body. Out of town over the holidays but I tried to keep up to date. Did I miss something?

5-3 Sting as of now. Benny Johnson nets 2 goals, Pat Sanvido scores his first OHL goal. Pavelka started the second. Congrats Pat!

That was a flat out bad performance. You can't fall behind 4-0 and expect to win games. Poor goaltending from DeKort and Pavelka. Pavelka has been wretched since the break. Posa was real bad on the 1st goal all but allowing a 75 horizontal pass from the halfboards to the opposite hash. Lorentz on the 2nd goal never picked up the trail guy and looked totally lost. Then the complete breakdown happened.

Spits gave up 3 goals in 2 minutes in the 1st period, against Saginaw they allowed 3 goals in a minute. That is unacceptable for a major junior hockey team to give up 6 goals over a 3 minute span within a week. The only performances worth noting were from Ebert, Sanvido, Johnson and Verbeek. The rest of the team flat out stunk, the team has lost 7 in a row even in 06-07 their longest losing streak was 8 games looks like we are back to square one with the poor play.

I am sure Johnson tipped the point shot and got the hatrick.Oh well he was windsor's best forward by far.Yes ebert was best d man also.Goaltending wasn't very good for sure.
