For some reason the Big 12 hipsters never show up here whining about how overrated the SEC is after the Cotton Bowl. Oh that's right, the Big 12 has lost the last 9 out of 10. They are going to finish with a losing record in bowl season as well.

Big 12! Big 12! Big 12!

Shut up SEC homer.

A&M is still basically a Big 12 team. Sumlin and Manziel were negligible differences between this year and last year.

Plus Manziel would have won the Heisman as a DB at Texas anyway. Mack Brown is a genius.

They were oh so close to being on the same team, but I think an A&M vs. Oregon game would be awesome.

It's funny how both Mariota and Manziel didn't even have jobs locked up until the fall. Both teams back up QBs must be really good to make the competition so close.

Saban recruited Pat White to LSU to DB/WR... genius move right there.

What's your point, considering Saban's track record at multiple schools (unlike Brown). Plus Saban offering Pat white as a DB means nothing considering he runs a pro style offense. Not to mention Pat White couldn't hold Manziel's jock strap. I honestly can't think of a single reason your comparison is the least bit valid.

Brown was good at UNC.

You did not watch Pat White play in college then, and dont give me oh it's only because he played in the Big East". Manziel looks like he is going to have the better career, but you saying they rent even close is .

Pat White would have been an awful fit as QB on a Saban team.

Manziel probably would have fit in at Texas like McCoy did but alas Mack Brown wanted to copy Saban.

Saban won a conference championship at 3 of the last 4 colleges he coached at, plus 3 national titles at 2 different schools. Brown never even won the ACC. Spurrier won one at Duke for crying out loud.

And Pat White was a good college QB but he's not on Manziel's level.

Your original comparison was stupid. Sorry, there's no other way to say it.

Nah, I'm good. Pretty sure no one will remember Pat White in a few years while any knowledgeable college fan will always remember Manziel.

Every coach in the country has overlooked a kid in his area or wanted them at a different position than the one they turned out to be successful at. It happens.

True. But it happens more with idiots like Mack Brown than anyone else, which is why I'm puzzled by justified's reference to Nick Saban, a coach that has proved way more than Mack Brown ever will

Does Bob Stoops teach tackling in practice? Sure didn't look like it. Probably won't be the last team Johnny Football embarrasses though.

The major bowls were pretty weak this year. Rose Bowl was the only game that wasn't over by the 4th quarter. And with the NCG threatening to serve up a 10-6 gem...

You are 100% correct. OU's defense has been terrible in recent years.

Wahahahahahahahaha so now it's because OU's defense sucks. Somehow they didn't have so much trouble stopping most of the vaunted Big 12 offenses since they were #2 in scoring defense in Big 12 play.

So are you denying that OU's tackling was horrible last night? Numerous ATM drives could have been stopped if not for shoddy tackling. The tone was set early when Manziel should have been sacked on 3rd down, but instead bust loose for a big gain. At the end of the day, OU had no answer for the Heisman winner. Shocking!

Still trying to figure out why the pre-Christmas caliber BBVA and GMAC bowls are played this late and are the last 2 before the Title game.

My guess is that they don't want to compete with NFL wildcard games. I hate it too, but it is what it is.
