Imagine how bad this team would've been if the lockout never happened.

I'm happy for Team Russia. Poor fellows would probably gotten shot if they hadn't won a medal on home ice.

Brutal play by Murphy there. But some blame to Spott has to be put out.

Rielly-Murphy should never have been a D pairing. Rielly pinches a little bit expecting Murphy to move to the left. Of course Murphy has the defensive awareness of Phil Kessel so that doesn't work out, and then he just gets burned.

Spott needs to go.

They get bronze, my parents didn't have to line up for toilet paper in the 80s.

Seems fair.

Congrats Russia.

Tremendous game!

This will easily go down as the best World Junior Championships ever.

Not really. Face to face, Murphy kind of trying to hit the guys stick and just misses badly.

So people say we can't use " we didnt have our best players" as an excuse. Is it an excuse if its true every year there isn't a lockout?

Are you saying that isn't true? Or that players in the NHL wouldn't - at least in theory - benefit the national junior team, simply because of this team's performance?

A fitting end to a ****** tournament for Canada. If anything, the replay of the Rielly and Murphy pairing getting burned in OT for the bronze-winning goal will endure as a tribute, if you will, to the utter failure of Spott as head coach of this team.

I've never seen a worse performance by a player wearing he maple leaf than Murphy. His 3rd period and OT today were so bad you had to laugh. Not only will be never play for Canada again, I'm pretty sure he'll never live this down. I hope I never hear that name again. My 8 year old nephew would've at least got a piece of that guy on the way by. For shame Murphy. For shame. You ****ing suck at hockey.

Congrats Russia. You sucked but not quite as bad as ryan Murphy. You're welcome.

Probably would have played better under that scenario. This team did not come together as a cohesive unit. The lack of compete from the top end players was probably the biggest disappointment in itself.

Amazing underachievement from every single defencemen. Harrington and Ouellet are generally considered the steadiest guys but Ouellet really struggled against the US and wasn't his best today, Harrington was flat out atrocious in the first period today.

Stupidity and Immaturity.

And both countries elevate young hockey players and don't make them actually get an education and play for a college.

So they're young and dumb.
