I don't want to be a sh@t starter but Grigorenko or Gally?
Grigs has been playing really solid. He's had a few turnovers and giveaways but all in all looks quite good. His size is a huge factor too. Don't know if he has Galch's colossal IQ though. Not that he's dumb but Galchenyuk did some really smart moves.
Hope Galchenyuk can have a big game same with Collberg.
Yep...Binnington was so much the answer.....This was a terrible decision. You ride the same goalie unless he's terrible. Subban wasn't terrible.
I don't blame Spott. He received a lot of heat (he shouldn't have) because he kept playing Subban. Subban should have stopped the 4th one against the Americans, but Spott should probably have called a timeout/pulled Malcolm out before that goal too.

We made the right pick. Doesn't take anything away from Grigorenko who's an amazing playmaker and has a lot of talent. Certainly top5 in that aspect in last year's draft.
Great power forward move by Nichuskin...as far as drafting him....well it all depends where we draft. I do have "some" reservations though. Didn't see a whole lot of hockey sense in him enough to believe a really early pick is that justified. Again....depends where we are.
He's too good offensively to not be a PP specialist somewhere. But he's having a rough time in his own end. Pretty unfair matchup against big Nichuskin.
So last draft the Bruins troll us by drafting Subban and this draft we troll them by drafting Nichuskin?
Seriously though, after watching all the russian games at the WJC, he didn't reassure me with his hockey sense. But at #20 you jump on him, there's no doubt about it.
I frigging hope they give a shot to Tourigny this year, it's been a while we've seen a Quebecker lead team Canada...

I guess but we'll see about that. He's not exactly improving his numbers this year compared to the other years which is often a big question mark in a guy's development. And he's really bad defensively. Hey, but I guess another team is looking for the next Marc-André Bergeron.

In fairness to Nichushkin he wasn't put in a real offensive role. MacKinnon also looked like a very simple player in this tournament for the same reason. Neither player are pure playmakers but it was very hard to get a read on that part of their game in Ufa.
I like the fact that he plays with an edge and uses his size like a power forward should. Apparently there may be a real hassle in dealing with his KHL club but that is nothing new.......

And that's a worst case scenario. Carolina will have to be patient with him. I used to be really high on him, but his defensive game has really turned me off this tournament. I'm quite happy we had to 'settle' for Beaulieu. He's certainly better on D than him, and he's bigger too

Spott had his two worst defensive d-men on the ice at the same............it was a gamble that didn't work out.

And Spott started the worst goalie out of the 2. This is where we lost the game. Binnington's was put in an unfair situation but never did Subban gave the bad goals that he did.
Murphy will have a career without a doubt. The hatefest is pretty ridiculous these days. As long as he's used in a situation where he can succeed, he'll have tons of value for a team. Just like MAB had tons of value for the Habs. It's just that people hate these kinds of guys who look terrible at times. He obviously won't be a d-man you want 30 minutes on ice but give him a few shifts at forward, play him on the PP and offensive situations against weaker opponents and he'll do a lot for you.
