So the USA wins gold again in a sport we don't care about, pretty embarrassing for the rest of the world then

Good for them. Europe desperately needs people with national pride.

Ask 100% of you, and you be mad.

Congrats to the US! Fun game to watch. It would have been interesting Sweden having all their players. Regardless, I am happy for a gold here and a bronze in the U-17. With 5 good teams every year (US, RUS, FIN, SWE, CAN) every year a couple teams will miss out.

Congrats to Team USA on winning the gold in just a terrific game. Props to Sweden on a great game and making our boys work for their win.

Really proud of the entire team, but especially the collegiate guys (I know, I'm biased ). Grimaldi, who finally got a couple of goals in the tourney, was great. Housley & co. did a wonderful job coaching the boys.

Way to go, USA!!!!!

Best current American goalies:
Quick
Miller
Howard
Thomas (don't know if he counts)
Schneider

Best Current Canadian goalies:
Price
Fleury
Ward
Luongo
Smith

slight edge to canada at this point in time, but america has a chance to be better in the near future.

Sorry but not accurate. A decade ago? sure. But I know of a few bars in my area that opened early for viewing parties for this, that were pretty well packed. This tournament is becoming more of a big deal, and I know with a lot of people they're looking for whatever hockey fix they can get so this fit the bill in a big way for them.

Well the sense of humour is hard to detect when you guys come in here with your Schadenfreude seconds/minutes after we lost but hey I am all for putting this Swedish/Finnish rivalry at a Swedish/Norwegian level.

Well hand in hand lets pour some water on that fire

Uhhh....now the disappointment is starting to set in. I demand a replay....no fair

A loss with honour, our team did better than we could demand from them. Congratulations to the winner and all the losers.

Not really, you should be a dominant force. The only country with more registered players than the US is Canada.

I just polled the 12 people in my house to watch the game and 100% of them knew about it. Of course not many of them are 35 and not all are male, so maybe they don't count?

And it could be argued that we are the second best hockey country in the world right now, what's your point?

And my brother, who doesn't care about hockey, knew about this game. I know ESPN doesn't give a ****, but they will still mention that USA won gold.
