Lebrun: One player told me things are going very well in the meeting but cautious optimism remains. NHL will move 60 million cap to get a deal done. Hardline players unhappy wishing they filed disclaimer. Thinks they will disclaim if talks go south.

Dreger: Gap is getting more narrow. Players are willing to saw off max contracts at 7 but want something in return, most likely 2nd year salary cap. Could still be 52 game season. From those closely associated "it's looking good" next 48 hours to next few days.
