63m with a buyout is more than enough for teams.

So our team as currently constructed is fine in 13/14 with 63M right? Tight, but workable if I remember correctly.

Yeah I believe that gives us enough of a cushion to sign our rfas and keep gabby

Not sure the 2nd buyout really helps us...other than Redden I can't see who we would use it on.

$63M is fine. They will have 2 amnesty buyouts. Redden is one. Rupp. It will be tight.

If they can wait for the summer for the second one, and they need to open an extra million dollars can use it on a Rupp or Asham.

Now with these buyouts. How long will we have them for?

Other than perhaps Wade Redden, I don't see where we'd really need the use of the 2nd buyout.

Wouldn't they be better off trading either of them for a 4th round pick?

Didn't they say the second one could be used any time during this CBA? Maybe we can save it for some other snafu down the road.

I think we need to see how he plays with two functioning knees before we totally write him off. I expect him to have a better season this year, but after last year that's probably not too hard to do. lol

So..today started with mediation and then the NHL went to the NHLPA's hotel to negotiate. A former player tweets lockout over.. But its not? Or what? I would think a former player would be a credible source. No more news?

What's so funny about that? Players dropped their demand from 70 to 65 yet the league repeatedly stood firm stating they wouldn't go higher than the 60 they started out with. Now it appears they might finally be willing to budge a bit. So yeah, the league was really not very willing to negotiate, at least as far as the 13/14 cap is concerned. Hopefully now the players either take 63 or they agree to split the difference at 64 and call it a day.

Hedican also tweeted the lockout was over, unless he was just retweeting O'Neil.

Maybe I take a game too seriously, but it's a seriously disgusting thing to play with people's feelings and tweet that the lockout is over.

Personally it doesn't bother me but yeah, it's really idiotic for guys who are in the business to mess around like that

Seeing as how there's zero need for $70M with a buyout (Two of them now) there's not much need for it...

No need for $65M either, they're just getting nit-picky now.
