Pays to have 2 top line centers on your second line. Richards and Carter should be able to hold the helm until Kopi is back, given a 1/18 start (if the CBA is settled this week) he'd miss about 2 weeks, which might be 5-7 games.
This team has enough top end talent to establish and maintain a solid lead, as they showed the world in April and May
Better now than late April or may...Kopitar is one very special player and without him the playoffs would be a very dark place.

Kopitar: "Got tangled up in the corner and it felt funny. Precautionary reasons to step off. Taking this seriously." Says 2-3 weeks #lakings
Good job Kopitar way to go down when the season might be starting.
That's the chance they all take when they sign in another league. As a Flyers fan, I was pissed as hell when Giroux and Briere both went to Germany. It wasn't like they were down to their last box of macaroni and cheese. Both of them are hurt. Just lucky it wasn't worse as in surgery or out for the season.
Wow, we might have a season now that this has happened It doesn't sound too grim though. Should be back up and running in no time. Hopefully this is the last of them. Martinez and Kopitar is enough for the overseas injuries of the year...

While this is certainly not good news, Telos is right. It's gonna be only one month, we can certainly deal with him being out only one month, that's like only 1/6 th of the season...
Helene Elliott @helenenothelen
Spoke to Anze Kopitar's agent, Pat Brisson. He said Kopitar's knee injury "is nothing to be alarmed with." Said Kopitar is in good spirits
Helene Elliott @helenenothelen
Brisson said more will be known about Kopitar's knee after tests are done in next few days but Kopitar doesn't think it's serious.
Is it 2-3 weeks before he plays again in Europe, or 2-3 weeks period?
Players play through minor injuries all the time in the NHL, but I don't think any of them would play through an injury right now with the season possibly starting up soon. This could very well be an injury that Kopi wouldn't think twice about playing through if it was the NHL, but figures he might as well rest it while he can.

That's actually a good point, but regardless of what they meant, the season is 2 weeks away (if at all).
