Well duh.

I'm just stating everything that happened. Clearly if someone read my post now they'd realize those sources were trolls or wrong. Clearly info is getting leaked out and everyone is trying to get one step ahead of one another.

Please don't belittle my post.

Compromise? What are you talking about? If there was a scale where the NHL was on step #1 and the PA was on step #10 in August, the PA has moved to step #3 thru this process and the NHL wants them at #2.

Not belittleing, more agreeing as bluntly as possible.

The question is, when you have unlimited contract length and the other side wants 5, is 6 the middle?

When the other side wants a 60m cap in year two and you want 70m, is 60m the middle?

Sounds like the PA shouldn't have stalled to now.

So, what would be the reason why the owners side wouldn't want to play 50+ games?

Isn't the thrill of the emotional roller coaster part of the reason why we we're sports fans?

Ok. So here we are with the sides at 1 and 3 and you think the NHL should move all the way over to 3 because that would be "easier".

ie, the players shouldn't compromise going forward.

I think #3 is what it's always like. Reporters always want to be the one that gets the scoop.

Its quite hilarious to follow this on twitter, once the first reporter reports you can watch
the feed explode with basically the same tweet from the rest of the pack.

The PA are the ones that picked this fight, and when you pick a fight you forfeit your right to complain about how hard you're getting your ass kicked.

Everybody with half a brain knew they were going to lose, it's just a matter of how badly they're going to lose.

They should move to 3 because....the PA moved to 3 to in the first place after 111 days? Let's send out the first PP unit with 2 minutes left when we are already up 8-0

When you step back and look at it, all this dragged out "still work to do/making progress" stuff is incredibly silly. They've been at this for months. Each side knows exactly what they want and what the other side wants on every issue. How many times can it be rehashed and "worked on"?

"So we want a 7 year opt out"

"Well, we want 8"

::stare blankly for 6 hours::

What movement has been made and who made it is subjective until you have a finished document. If both 1 and 10 are ridiculous premises that don't reflect the market at all, what are they worth?

IMO, "make whole" was ridiculous and it was conceded to.
