Not to pick a fight with anyone in particular, but the "this is a lockout not a strike!" logic is one of the dumbest things that keeps being brought back into these discussions.

Meeting in the middle is the cornerstone of negotiation.
Want to sell your $500k home? Put it on the market for $2 billion, then wait for the $1 billion+ offers to roll in. Oh it's not selling? Y u no meet in middle market!?!?
Man, I'm so curious about how the league is going to respond to this **** show we call the lockout to the fans when it's over. I know as a die hard fan myself, I'm offended and disgusted beyond words with the league and it's players.
I can't imagine how casual fans feel about a lockout. If they knew some of the details we know, they probably wouldn't come back period.
But seriously, as fans, we absolutely deserve more than just "FREE CENTER ICE FOR EVERYONE!" I want some accountability from both sides. I'd love to see both of them in candid interviews where they get asked really difficult questions and make them look bad. These people deserve some serious egg on their faces.
So, you lost an entertainment option for about three months. What's the big deal?
Last time i checked this was a lockout not a strike. Yeah it was ultimately about ho much they were going to lose, but they have every right to complain about how much they're giving up, because when you compare it to the previous CBA, its quite a lot. Even if you want to throw out the previous CBA and start from scratch, they've given quite a bit
You can't play without a CBA, the players didn't want to talk until August. They were asked to talk around the All Star break. You think they weren't looking for a stoppage? C'mon Man!
Newsflash, even if the owners get everything they wanted, this CBA still would not fix whats wrong with the league. There are too many teams in markets that no one cares about. For instance, why are their 2 hockey teams in FLORIDA when no one cares about sports outside of college football there with the exception of the Miami Heat? same thing can be said about Phx, and other places that makes it difficult for hockey to be as good as it can be.
I'm a little confused with all the anti PA hate... I understand its frustrating, but lets see what the PA has given into on..
They gave into term limits for contracts the league wanted.
They gave into the 50/50 split.
They gave into the 10 year CBA the league wanted.
What exactly has the league given on? before today they wouldn't even move off the 60M cap.
Wow I known you love the PA from all your messages but you act like they gave in for the League's greed. It's for the league's stability. Do you not understand the financial problems of the league and for all the teams to get relief this is a necessary sacrifice its something that needed to be done. Term limit is necessary.

We have already seen benefit of the disclaimer as we have seen a dramatic shift in mood in progress over past 24 hours - NOT a coincidence
A cluster**** created by both sides. Anybody pretending that both sides don't share the responsibility for this thing equally needs to have their head examined.

I get it, but the league didn't really help things when they further poisoned the water with their first offer. We can go back and fourth about who started this, but the fact of the matter is the NHL is currently in the middle of a lockout, and the PA has conceded a bunch of changes already. They have every right to be unhappy, especially because the lockout is becoming a serious trend, not only in the NHL, but professional sports in general.

Have you seen Floridas population its not hard to understand why they took a big shot at Florida. It will work and relocation isn't easy process. Things will happen.

So tired of this notion.
They said the same thing about L.A.
When the Panthers went to the finals, people went.
Same with Tampa.
Phoenix has been in flux, but when stabilized and when they win, people will go.
You have to take the power of DOI in Fehr's hand seriously.

Some teams lose money paying players salary through the season, and make up for it in the playoffs. It depends on the team. Taking extreme examples, Leafs would like more games, Phx less games.
Seriously, anyone that calls it a strike is silly. It's not a strike. Yeah, yeah I know, it would have been if they'd played under no CBA (which is never going to happen). The PA did extend the last CBA, the owners didn't.

I'm sorry but what are you talking about???
NHL has moved on virtually every single stance they've had in the past several days and weeks. Please read these threads more often to see how the NHL has changed their position to attempt a deal.
