IMO, there's no way they lose Weiss. He's too important for the development of guys like Bjugstad and Hubereau.
I think Tallon and Co. will do everything in their power to keep Weiss. He is so important to our top 6. Unfortunately, none of that may matter. He's been here for a little over a decade. He may be ready to move on despite us turning the corner.

Every tournament is not going to be a like that either. And I think you're right about Grimaldi learning from this experience. I think this is all just part of his development. It forces him to bring more elements to his game other than pure physical talent. He just needs better decision making. Even still, he has been creating offensive opportunities throughout the tournament. If some of those end up in the net people would not be as critical.
Being benched by Housley had to be an eye-opener for him.

Also, I agree with you about his improvements. He must make better decisions with the puck. But, boy was he a different player in this tournament. I saw him make uncharacteristic drop passes and ill-timed plays all over the ice! He didn't get any shed of puck luck and didn't have any chemistry with anyone until he was paired with Trocheck. I'm not making excuses for him at all, but you could almost see the monkey on his back the whole time.

Yeah, Hubs set up guys a few times just no one could get it past Gibson. And Grimaldi had a good game. He did have a couple passes right to the opposition but his assist was nice and he had McCabe set up for the hat trick but he couldn't get it past Binnington (who was solid coming in for Subban).

Guess there's only room for one small guy on the world junior stage. Gaudreau pushed Grimaldi out of the limelight and showed people why he dominates at BC.

Corban Knight is on fire. Per twitter:

Quote:
North Dakota MHockey ‏@UNDMHockey

Corban Knight has 25 points (8g, 17a) during his 14-game point streak. Has 12 points (6g, 6a) in his last four games alone.
I really want to see what this kid does in the AHL next season.

And here are the highlights to UND's 5-2 win over Holy Cross. Knight scores goals 2 & 3 and assists on goals 4 & 5.

I know we want Hubs to score 200 points a year, but Tanguay is a pretty realistic expectation I think.

Tanguay is a career 0.83 ppg player and won a Stanley Cup. Scored over 58 points in 7 seasons.

Just saying that if he turns out to be another Tanguay, it won't be such a bad thing

Not sure if this has been said already but Mike Matheson had 3 assists yesterday in a 3-3 tie against Yale. He now has 4 goals 10 assists in 17 games as a freshman! Tallon looks to have found another future stud.

Found this little video about Corban Knight. Maybe I follow hockey with my heart a little too much, but I really like how Tallon is building the Panthers with high character players.

I don't think Knight was drafted by Tallen.

Oooops! You're right, drafted in 2009. At any rate, kid seems like a good team mate.

Thanks for the video. In my opinion, you can never have too many high character guys with skill.

Finally get to find out whether Huberdeau is going to be a winger or a centre for us.

Lost among the lockout ending, Grimaldi scored 2 goals in the WJC finals.

so you want Huberdeau on the 4th line? because that's where Parros is going to be entrenched.

Bjugstad 2 goals tonight. Kyle Rau with a goal and assist. I can't wait for Bjugstad to make the squad, he has a laser!
