Avs have an abundance of depth defensmen on the roster (Hejda, Wilson, O'Brien, Zanon, Hunwick) and with Barrie, Elliott and Gaunce coming up from the AHL, some of them will likely get moved.

That is not respectable at all. None of them would add any value to the Habs system - especially if Emelin is in play.

While Simmonds is overpayment, any Flyer prospect or combination thereof would be a gross underpayment from a Habs POV!

The things we would need from Philly are players like Simmonds, Couturier, or Coburn. Emelin is nowhere near enough to get Couturier or Coburn, so Simmonds would be the target because,in all honesty, we need Emelin...lol. He is incredibly valuable to our team, just like he would be for your team. We would not trade him for a pick, sorry. We could add a 2nd round pick in 2013 or an equivalent prospect, though.

Tinordi is 100% not getting moved, especially if we are moving Emelin! Thrower would be a tough one, but I could consider Emelin and Thrower for Simmonds.

Well I doubt he'll be avaliable, but you never know. The fact is that Colorado has a lot of defensemen on one way contracts (EJ, Zanon, Hejda, Wilson, O'Byrne, O'Brien, Hunwick). Tyson Barrie has been impressive in the AHL and he looks NHL ready, so if he makes the jump Colorado he and EJ cover up two spots in the lineup, which leaves 6 defensemen fighting for 4 spots.

If I was a betting men I would bet O'Byrne is a goner, especially if Barrie (or Elliott) shows he's ready for a top 4 role.

Keith Ballard for a mid round pick.

The Flyers get a player with a skill set to be more than a mid tier defenseman, who is a mid tier guy or in the worst case scenario gets bought out (I don't think the Flyers have any surefire buy outs so for a rich franchise like them this shouldn't be a major risk).
