This is beauty! Can't wait for the sked to come out today so that we can do the draft in my group for game selection, I feel like a kid in a candy store!
It's been a great few weeks minus the meltdown by Canada against the USA. awhile back I speculated that the start of the WJC would begin our hockey season and today that has come true. Scheifele took strides forward in this years WJC and Trouba won the gold and the best D man in the Tourney and seems to have caught the fancy of pretty much every hockey fan with a pulse.
Like others have said its good to put this behind us and move forward. Can't wait to see the real schedule and devide up tickets.
NFL playoffs are in full swing......I feel alive today!!
Anyone have an idea how that cap is to be calculated after year two?
It'll be same as before, but 50/50 split instead of 54 then 57 in the old agreement. There might be some provisions that prevent it from going lower than 64 million though...

What we know so far:
Salary Cap
Y1: 60M ceiling but teams can spend up to $70.2M, 44M floor
Y2: 64.3M ceiling, 44M floor
Y3 - Y10: The higher of 64.3M or 50% (according to Bruce Arthur)
No cap on escrow
Contracts
7 year max or 8 years if re-signing with same team.
35% variance year-over-year
50% variance between highest and lowest year of contract
Arbitration
Teams may not walk away from award unless award is at least 3.5M (Clarke MacArthur Clause)
Revenue Sharing
$200M with $60M "growth fund"
Compliance Buyouts
2 per team next season, counting against players' share of HRR
Supplemental Discipline
Brendan Shanahan is still the first judge; the appeals will still go through Commissioner Gary Bettman; but for suspensions of six or more games, a "neutral third party will decide if necessary."
Misc
10 year CBA with mutual opt-out clauses after 8 years
Realignment pushed down the road, no decision made for this or next season
Olympic participation will be settled on a future date outside of CBA framework
That's about all the details we have at this point. I am trying to find about that re-alignment thing, it doesn't make any sense to me to leave the Jets in the Southeast for 2 more years...
I'm kinda surprised that the realignment issue has been pushed further down the road. Does this mean we have another concrete chance at being SE champions in 2013- 2014?

So still tied to league revenues of the 4 teams making 80% of the league money.
Just got out of bed, and checked my TSN...and then...Wooo!!!
I totally knew it was the wife that was jinxing it last time, so this time I didn't say a ****in word to her, and would you look at that...lockouts over.
