Joe's skating isn't ideal but its around average however for a tall man like him it can be rectified with Underhill. Boyle had similar issues, however Colborne IMO is more talented than him.

What's Gardiner's status? Will he be ready for primetime?

If Colbourne becomes a 3rd line center...

Bonus,no one ever said he would become number one.

I know that this is going to sound totally pessimistic but I'm going to miss the atmosphere at Marlies games now that the lockout has ended. Don't end your support now people, even without the lockout guys like Guards and Fratts its still a very entertaining product.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but i'm pretty sure both of those guys will be in the NHL.

Hopefully they don't rush him back. Give Rielly the 9 games and then see where Gardiner is at in his development.

I was hoping he's been ready for a while and that they were keeping him out of the AHL lineup as a precaution.

Yes, that was my point. Even with those guys gone it is still fun to watch. They actually put together a good AHL team that I think will still win when the lockout guys head down to the ACC

They are taking it slow with him. With the team winning, there's no reason to rush him back. My fear is that the Leafs, and even Gardiner may feel a need to rush back...

Excited to see the impact the NHL coming back will have on the Marlies. Gonna be nice to see guys like Ross getting into the lineup as a regular and at least a couple of the ECHL forwards (Devane, Carrick, Crecsenzi, Brenner) brought up. Claude Loiselle was also interviewed during game on sportsnet yesterday and he mentioned having to sign a couple ECHL dmen to round out the Marlies D

When you really look at it, the NHL doesnt really do much for the Marlie forward corps. Frattin is really the only lock, and even Kadri will have to bump someone out of a spot.

Meanwhle Holzer, Ranger and Gardiner are all NHL possibilities.

No doubt. That's why I hope Burke moves MacArthur and frees up a roster spot for Kadri

I am gidy with the trades that are possible coming up, we always make moves to get younger or players who have potential but aren't being used. So I am pumped lol.

I think Blacker has settled in after his rough start and is starting to play some better hockey. He should be getting some prime time AHL minutes now too. Now just need to get that birdcage off his helmet.

Also, couldn't agree more LR. Let te wheeling and dealing commence

All he needs is Underhill to show him skating, Domi to show him toughness and Gilmour to show him drive. Off to see the wizard...

Liles did the same mistake IMO and as well Dion when his leg was injured the previous season. I really hope they take their time. This is also the time for Blacker to step up, Holzer likely to play in the leafs team if all goes well and gards is already a lock.
