Trust me I won't either just saying I wouldn't byways nice rookies sometimes change their number after the 1st year

Well...in my little fantasy world of fairness I would force all owners and players to somehow replace all the money that restaurants, bars, waiters/busboys-girls, vendors, stores, parking lot attendants, etc, all lost during this long depressing lockout (keeping nhl fans hostages...nhl fans that pay owners/players' salaries...not fair whatsoever...some justice should be rendered to nhl fans and businesses that lost lots of money). The owners and players can't keep doing this to fans and businesses revolving around the nhl...it's like they're giving all of us the big finger each time they lock us out of nhl hockey (and we pay their salaries... they're biting the hand that feeds them everytime).

They (owners + players) all deserve a pie full of **** to be thrown at their faces (and more) for locking us fans and businesses revolving around nhl out of nhl hockey. Humble pie...something that will finally make them realize we pay their salaries...A LOT OF RESPECT IS DUE (and some payback), but the damage has been done already and they seem to get away with it each time).

I feel like people have forgotten how ridiculous the original NHL offer was. Owners started these negotiations in bad faith, including during this off-season when giving contracts like Suter's and Parise's which they had no intention of 'making whole'. Both sides are responsible, but in my eyes, I care about Gorges, Subban, Eller, Gionta, Price, and any other player- I could care less about Gillette or Molson or Wang or Leipold. The only thing I ever see owners do is jack ticket and concession prices, hold municipalities hostage to get them to build new stadiums while threatening to move the team, or solicit money from fans to enshrine themselves in a brick in a plaza- only to build a high-rise for yuppies over said bricks a decade later. Everyone who has been kvetching about Gorges doing his job as an NHLPA rep and how he is a whiner or anything else along those lines can get at me when an owner takes a Mike Green slapshot to the back of the head and plays the next night.

Seems like the buyouts will take effect next season, when the cap goes down from 70M to 64.3M....so that means Gomez is here this year...

Yes, he is. Will we see the rebirth of Scotty Gomez?

Answer is, not likely.

Yeah that's wishful thinking but they could start with half price at concession stands for a few games or something like that.

Owners and players can't just offer a good deal right away because no matter what would have been offered, the other side would have thought they could have gotten more. Both sides had ridiculous starting points. It's to be expected.

Was there something about burying players in the AHL/Elsewhere?

Is it me, or the only player due for a serious raise next season is DD?

Just remember, even though buyouts can't be done until the summer does not mean that Gomer will be on the Habs roster this season. Wonder if the new CBA will allow teams to hide salary in the AHL. Keeping Gomer in the AHL for this shortened season may be what gets Subban signed?

edit: Crappy day to be stuck at work. All these delays taking me away from the enjoyment of this day is almost killing me

For the entire season!! (and free jerseys, hats, 2 for 1 beer, cheaper ticket prices, etc,etc!!...they can find ways to show appreciation to neglected nhl fans, but will they?).

It would also be great if a lot of them (owners and players) could even acknowledge what they're really doing to fans, businesses related to the nhl (neglectingg them)...not sure any of them have any kind of empathy towards the fans that pay their salaries (maybe a few?). They're all too busy trying to make more millions collected from fans and when they want more money...lockout.

rumor has it that Molson is willing to provide 5 lucky fans for the first 5 games a 5$ concession credit that they could use towards any purchase of 50$ or more.

Wait, what's the provision about the "new" lottery system for the draft?

Any team can win the lottery and pick 1st overall. There is no more "max increase of 4 spots".

All 14 teams that miss the playoffs get a chance at the 1st overall pick. So, if you win the lottery and you were placed at 8th pre lottery, you get the first overall pick.

Word on the streets is that he might even be generous enough to spoil 5 more fans.
