The Wings have so much speed in the pipeline. They talk about getting a little bigger too and some of these players are decent there, but man good luck catching these guys if they pan out. I mean that is what the Oilers all-star kids are struggling to cope with and a bunch of our faster players aren't on this team yet in Quine, Anathasiou, and Jensen.

Great game, I do wonder about all these people certain of the Oilers being really close to being good.

None of those offensive talents plays much defense and in less Dubnyk really pans out than they still need a goalie also.

I'm more and more impressed with Tatar each time I get a chance to watch him. He looks to becoming a more complete player. He looks very confident out there. I think in some of our rankings he's a little underrated.

Great win for the Griffins. Expected them to come out strong, and they did. They've been really playing some awesome hockey for a while now.

It seems Smith is not to fond of Schultz being called better than him. 3A +3 for Smith and 1G -4 for Schultz. Wish he would get motivated for every game.

Schultz will have a big offensive impact right away in the NHL. But I feel more confident feeding Smith the big minutes. Much more seasoned.

Griffins have a great opportunity to pull away from the rest of the division. They are in 1st with 3 less games played than the Icehogs.

High-paced game against Chicago so far. Some sloppy turnovers.

3-1 Griffins. Sheahan has an assist, Nyquist a goal, and Smith an assist. Glendening the home boy got a wonky goal.

Is Sheahan playing with Gus and Tats? Sounds like its working wonders. Ever since the infamous telletubby incident Riley has been awesome.

Yeah he is and hes looking better than Andersson I think. Hes putting up pretty solid numbers considering his NCAA career and it being his rookie pro season

His physical game from college hasnt really shown in the AHL. Hes not soft at all is really strong on the puck but I've only seen him throw one or two big hits all year. Hes a good power center though and really starting to click offensively.

If he could hit 40 points this year that would be huge

Time for the Griffins to go back to mediocrity. Unless, of course, Mrazek and McCollum can stay on the same pace.

Other teams lose players too.

We lose Smith and Nyquist. Maybe Tatar but that's not likely imo. Smith hasn't played up to his level this season outside of few games.. or at least I hope so. They have been ok lately though Nyquist hasn't been that stellar.

Griffins lost two top6 forwards in Andersson and Pare and still looked like the same team. The depth is good. Smith's minutes will hurt the most, but as I've said earlier I think Lashoff is ready for 1st pair duties and Almqvist is ready for 1st PP unit. I look forward to see Jurco get some more PP time. I expect this team to keep winning.

How serious are those injuries for Andersson and Pare? If they are fine before Gus leaves the offensive depth is just fine. There's so much unused potential in Ferraro etc.

Smith is definitely the hardest piece to replace.

Ouellet and Sproul will arrive when their junior seasons will, but before that it will be tough months for Griffs.

Hopefully the goalies will shine.

I am kind of excited to see how this team competes without Nyquist, Smith, possibly without Tatar. I think Jurco hasn't really done a whole lot of scoring, and it'll be nice to see him get more minutes as a result of these changes so we can see if he can rack up a few points at this level. Glendening has been a really nice surprise so far, so it'll be really cool to see if he can continue producing once these guys leave. I wish Tatar and Nyquist would both make the Wings so I could watch them more often!

If I'm the Red Wings I don't play Smith, Nyquist and Tatar today but I guess we're about to find out.

Pare has a concussion I believe, not sure about Andersson but he's missed two(?) games now.

So yeah, could be an adjustment time here if they lose 4-5 players at once. Good thing is they've got great confidence for the time being.

I think Smith and Nyquist are gone but Tatar only gets call up duty semi frequently.

Tatar Sheahan and Ferraro may become the top line or something

This has been a different team since Mrazek was brought up from Toledo. He will likely get more work going forward. No reason to think he can't handle the challenge.
