Gotta agree with you. I'm not against Bouillon as a player as much as I'm against the idea of adding him to our team in it's current shape. We have 8 (or we will once subban signs) NHL defensemen. Weber I can see traded, but then we've got Bouillon making 1.5 million to be the 7th D who won't even play all the games? Just found that a bit odd. It's also adding another injury prone component to an already injury prone team. It's like we're thumbing our noses at the hockey gods.
" You can't possibly injure ALL our habs!"
Yeah that's true he is injury prone. And he's not exactly getting any younger. But he does bring experience to a young-ish blueline outside of Markov and Kaberle.
We'll see how it plays out. Hell maybe even Therrien will surprise us who knows.
It's going to be hard for the Habs in a shortened season I think though. New management, new coach, new faces, new system etc...not a lot of time to put it all together.
Good news is it'll be hard for them to be worse than last year.
In fact, the other silver lining in this is that I totally expect the Leafs to have a pretty good season as they have less time to implode, and I just think they have an all around decent team (questionable goaltending still).
The last thing I wanted was the Leafs getting another lottery-esque pick, and if the lockout continued and they ran off the old system they would have had primo chances at getting a top pick.
I've been seeing this on my Facebook all day long:
Funny.
Doubt it though, they should definitely be in the mix this season. Definitely not a lottery team, or at least I don't believe them to be. It's going to largely hinge on what kind of goaltending they can get, and rumor has it Luongo is going to be going there.
Thrilled and in shock, ...2 amnesty buyouts and 3-4 games a week?? getting rid of gomez and kaberle for FREE? i thought christmas was 2 weeks ago...
BUT, that being said, ..i do hope we finish in the bottom 5 again this year, just...one...last...time...we need just one more special player.. THEN return next year full force!!
The team ended up WAY lower than it should have last season, considering the assets we have and the way it has played as a whole. This isn't a 15th place team -- more like an 11th place team in the worst scenario.
That could be the opening scene of the new Batman movie.
Well said. Aside from politicians, he probably the only public figure who I actually, actively hate. If I were in the media I'd run an endless smear campaign against him, if only to interrupt or marginally disrupt his life until his eventual descent into madness.
