Right now we have Backes, Berglund and Steen down the middle.
Ideally we'd like somebody to push Backes and/or Berglund down a line and move Steen back to LW(giving us McDonald, Perron and Steen on LW).

Admittedly this is more of a "want" than a real need, but our team is fairly set so we don't have much to look for.
I don't see why the blues need a center at all, Backes, Berglund, Steen, are pretty solid and Sobotka can fill in if nichol gets injured. Mcdonald and Oshie are more than capable of helping out if we get decimated with injuries.

Only trade I think the Blues look for is a upgrade at left d, that's if Cole looks out of place which I think he will be fine.

You have a point. It's actually a pretty good idea after all

Penguins: Trade bait is top4 D-men like Paul Martin and Matt Niskanen. Other than that there's a dozen of good/great defense prospects where we can live without pretty much anyone, although I would not 'like' dealing Despres or Morrow. Otherwise we have very little to offer.

Needs.... only one biggie. A top 6 forward, preferably one with a RH shot who can play the left boards/in front of the net competently on the PP.

Dream players to get considering cap and all.... guys like Chris Stewart, Devin Setoguchi, Nathan Horton or if we can't get such RH shots, perhaps a return of a bought out Ryan Malone... a trade for Kulemin to link up with Malkin etc.

1) Because Steen got himself turned into the "throw in" on the Stempniak deal by playing center in Toronto. He was a hairs-breadth from washing out of the NHL at the position and I do not even remotely like the thought of putting him back there.

I also doubt his ability to stay healthy as a center when he can't manage it as a winger.

2) Oshie hasn't shown a darn thing when he's been tried at center, and McDonald would get himself killed playing center in our system. Neither one is a legit option to play the position. Sobotka would be the next person in line, and his numbers aren't good enough to man the position full time.

Hitch is willing to give Steen the first shot at the position and I trust Hitch well enough, but IMO Army could really help this team by grabbing a guy like Getzlaf, Jordan Staal or Kesler(just throwing names around, nobody get your panties in a bunch) to go on top of Backes/Berglund. IMO that is the 1 piece that would put our forward ranks over the top.

For assets:

- We have all of our picks in the 2013 draft, Chicagos 2nd and 3rd, and pick #59 for not signing Daulton Leveille.

- We have a glut of 2nd/3rd line C, including Wellwood (who played 2nd line wing and had a career high 47 pts), Little, Burmistrov, and Antropov. Burmistrov is fantastic on the PK. He's the most likely trade bait, with Antropov right behind him probably at the trade deadline.

- We have at least 5 shooting/offensive RHD in the system. Byfuglien, Bogosian, Postma, Trouba, Redmond. I could see Redmond or Postma being offered as trade bait. Postma just signed a 1-way and Redmond is down at the farm, but deserves a shot.

- The past two years the Jets seemed to have picked a lot of steals. Yuen (good +/- LHD), Lowry (6'5" LW 6th in WHL scoring), Kosmachuk (RW great sniper)

- We are content at goal (Pavelec, Montoya). No need to change anything there.
Rangers want to get long term reasonable deal with Micheal Del Zotto, who was like 22nd overall. If traded, would prefer to use as package and add to get an upgrade, if not at D, at some other position.

So what are you willing to bribe NY with for MDZ?
Assume you are middle of the pack.
A successful 20ish selection available now for your first round, Postma and ......________________ ....is a deal that can be agreed on.

LA Kings: Bernier and Loktionov are available for the right price.

I think Philly could have interest in Bernier to give Bryz some competition.

A fair assumption

I have to admit I'm not fully educated on MDZ, but I'm pretty sure he's just the ticket. Just very unsure on his value mostly. I know it has risen tremendously last season. Our potential D:

Enstrom - Byfuglien
MDZ - Bogosian
Hainsey - Trouba
Stuart as the 7th

The Sharks' only real needs are a 3rd line C and LW.

Marleau-Thornton-Pavelski
Clowe-Couture-Havlat
XXXXX-XXXXX-Wingels
Galiardi-Desjardins-Burish
Handzus

Vlasic-Burns
Stuart-Boyle
Braun-Demers
Murray

Boyle will almost certainly be moved this summer. Only real untouchables are Vlasic and Burns. Couture only moves for a better young forward. Murray is OTB for me. I'd welcome trading Clowe for a younger, faster 2nd line winger.

For the habs a reasonable want is a 4, 5 or 6 dman who's physical and tough. Able to fight.

We have picks/ prospects/ offensive dman.

Sigh. Calgary still needs a top six centre and we don't have a whole lot that we're willing to give up sadly. Especially with Cervenka hurt.

Bouchard for Tallinder or Setoguchi+ for Volchenkov seems fair to me.

I'd do the Seto for Nisky just for reasons that it gets us where we need to be with less cost factor. Niskanen probably isn't in the Pens long-term plans.

Andy McDonald would make plenty of sense for Anaheim next year when Selanne and Koivu could be gone. Another reason for it is the Ducks internal budget, and they can probably sign him (if the Blues don't re-sign him) below his market value. The guy loved it in Anaheim. If Selanne is still any good, bringing in Andy could also work as a motivational factor for Teemu to give it another year. I don't think he'll be traded though, doesn't he have a NTC anyways?

Oilers

Top pairing dman
2nd line centre with size and skill

Bait

Hemsky
Gagner
Whitney
1st rounder
Pajaarvi
Omark

Probably not enough quality players for a top pairing dman, but maybe a decent #2 centre.

Needs:

Top 6 Forward
Depth/Secondary Scoring

Assets:

Lots of Defensemen potentially available (obviously not Subban and Gorges)

Or if Montreal is going to be sellers again:

Needs:

Picks in 2013, ideally 1sts and 2nds

Assets:

Pretty much everyone, you know, minus the young guys, including Price, Subban, Pacioretty, Galchenyuk, etc...

Needs:
Top 4 shut down defenseman
Either a top six power forward to replace Ruutu (hip surgery) or a gritty bottom six forward

Trade Block:
Jamie McBain or Joni Pitkanen (can't lose both)
Jiri Tlusty (only for the power forward)
Zach Boychuk
Any draft pick
