I'm not sure if he's ready yet, I think he might be, but it's funny that before the Wjc most people on here were saying that he's NHL ready and what not but after a 7 game tournament (which he was not really put in a situation to really succeed) he is not and will have to spend time in the AHL.
I for one think he should play. Slotted at top six left wing or top 9 with Eller to get a crash course in the pros. The leadership team will choose best and much like Seguin was dealt with, this may be the most beneficial. Honestly, his dominance in the ohl should further increase his chances to stick. What more does he need to learn? Plays a high IQ game, is oozing confidence in his abilities to be something special and is probably in better game shape physically and mentally than 60% of the current locks on this team.
Obviously he'll be at the camp. Then see who is hurt, who gets hurt, how many pulled groins, etc. Maybe the numbers game and his performance add up to him going back to Sarnia, maybe it adds up to him getting a look beyond camp. Then proceeding from there. I think it would be silly to "decide" now what his ultimate destination for the rest of the year is.
My sentiment exactly... Although with this season guys from juniors and AHL migth actually look much stronger then vets who were not playing in europe...
He's not going on the Desharnais line, and he doesn't have the defensive experience to play on the Plekanec line.
But if he plays with Eller its not bad either and talented offensive player with skills. Add a Moen or an Armstrongs to it to create some spaces and then you're ready to go with a solid 3rdline that plays again weaker opponents!
Just to add to what you say. Those stiff Gally's playing with in Sarnia (Sarrault and Boucher) have respectively 11 and 12 pts in 5 games since Gallys departure. Looks like they can "survive" without him after all. Better, his replacement on the line Goldobin is doing quite good to say the least.
Goldobin is a very good player, easily their second best forward and a top prospect. Sarault is a talented overage scoring forward, he's going to put up points. Boucher is a great compliment to a skilled line in that league.
You shouldn't simply read the stat line in an attempt to rate a players quality or importance. Watching the games will show you that Galchenyuk is miles ahead of all of those players and the gap is widening by the day.

With all due respect, that's a ridiculous and extremely premature statement.

Unless you're on HFBoards apparently. Where ELCs are more important than the game itself!

Gally would be lucky to get 9 minutes in the NHL.
No he wouldn't. He will have every opportunity to play, and in either case, he won't be expected to dominate every game like some people here were expecting out of the WJCs. Hence, the perception of him playing poorly, because he isn't constantly on the highlight reels, won't be running rampant. That was his point I assume, with him saying "don't put too much emphasis on the WJC".
And let's not forget that whomever he plays with in Montreal, will still be 1000x better than Kuraly.

So with Gally's phenominal world juniors does anyone think the Habs are going to call him up to the big club? I thought I remembered them saying that they were going to if the lockout ended but maybe I'm just imagining things.
He'll definitely be given a shot at camp but don't expect him to crack the line-up. Barring any injuries we have a full roster. Being called up during a reduced season may be a little more unlikely than had it been a full season. Who knows though, circumstances throughout the year may get him a few games in a Habs uniform. I'd love to see him on the ice opening night just to see how he performs at a higher level of play but hey, time will tell.
