Just realized I forgot Vincour. Is he still concussed?

Just saw there are currently 51 people on the Stars board right now. When was the last time that happened?

Probably when we collapsed in Minnesota on the last day of the season and everyone came to stare at the wreckage.

That's probably a good guess. I was still a "lurker" on here when that went down.

Thats what I'd go with. I think a line of Whitney-Roy-Ryder would be too much of a defensive liability. Nystrom belongs on the 4th line, he's not going to repeat what he did last year. Sceviour also belongs on the 4th line, I think he's already maxed out in the AHL. Dont risk losing him for nothing like Crombeen. Wandell can be the 13th forward/injury replacement.

I really want Benn and Loui to stay together all year. I'm not thrilled about Benn playing on a line with Whitney. A line of Whitney-Roy-Ryder is weak defensively, but I think their offensive production might out-weigh that weakness. Ryder would have no problem keeping up his ppg pace with Roy and Whitney setting up his sick snap shot.

Roy's a goal scorer, and I'll be incredibly stunned if Ryder even comes close to PPG pace.

When I said "his ppg pace" I was referring to his pace from last season which was .76 pt's a game... I wouldn't describe Roy as a goal scorer.

Ah, okay, that's reasonable.

Roy is, if anything, kind of a jack of all trades, but his best asset is his scoring ability.

Definitely agree with the jack of all trades (mostly offensive). When I think of Roy, I think of him as a playmaker with some finesse. Regardless he's a welcome addition.

Seems late. I thought the season was ending like the first week of May. Not going to have a ton of time to acclimate new teammates.

For the shortened 2012-13 NHL season, there's talk of an April 5 trade deadline and July 5 start to free agency. Still to be settled.

Highlights from Lites Press Conference:

*Tentative Board of Governors meeting scheduled for Tuesday
*Anticipate we'll be playing the week of the 14th of January at some point
*Season 48 to 50 games
*We're going to be price sensitive (ticket prices)
*Do everything we can to say "yes" to season ticket holders
*Do everything we can to be relevant in this community
*Full court press to win the public back
*Bet there are 10 players in Cedar Park that will be NHLers, some at a high level
*Half of our roster was playing somewhere, rest playing here at local rink
*Our staff is talking to our players, getting them here ASAP
*No schedule, bur rumored opening at home
*If it's a 50 game, could open as soon as week from Tuesday
*48 game schedule opens on 19th

10?

I'm optimistic, but that's a ton.

Assuming they all pan out, and even then, Nihlstrop and Benn are long shots (unless he means even for a short period of time).

I thought he said making it to the NHL. Because all can probably do that. Quality is a different story.

Yeah he just meant getting in. He only said a few would be .... it wasn't special .... can't remember the word he used.
