Blackhawks - Season Starting Roster

What's it going to look like? I doubt there is any chance TT gets in there. Saad? Camp should be interesting for the final couple of spots. Post what you think is going to happen.

Some combo of Kruger or Kane at #2 C - Ugh
#2 D pairing of Leddy-Oduya - Ugh
Crawford and Emery in net - Ugh

Hawks could be picking #1 this year at draft with some of these options on roster

Is there even going to be a TC? Don't see TT coming over. Saad has a pretty good shot of cracking the roster, but would prefer if he stayed the year in Rockford to be the man.

Stalberg-Toews-Kane
Sharp-Kruger-Hossa
Carcillo-Bolland-Shaw
Bickell-Mayers-Hayes

Keith-Seabrook
Leddy-Hammer
Oduya-Stanton

That's what I'd like to see.

I don't see Stanton playing over Rozsival and/or Brookbank. He very well could be the first guy up when an injury or two hits.

It's been so long I have completely forgot about Rozy. He really does make a great option on the bottom pairing.

TT has no out in his contract for this year

Stanton wont be anywhere near roster IMO given depth logjam

I still think we might see Hammer traded (Terrible cap hit and hasn't been good these past 2 years + D logjam)

If not

Stalberg-Toews-Kane
Sharp-Kruger-Hossa
Bickell-Bolland-Frolik
Carcillo-Mayers-Shaw
(Bollig)

Keith-Seabrook
Leddy-Oduya (Ugh)
Brookbank-Roszival
(Monty if healthy)

Keith and Seabrook will be dead playing 50 games in 3.5 months with those 2 bottom D pairings.

In short season teams can falter badly

94-95 Habs went from contender before start of year to being out of playoffs
94-95 Rangers nearly missed playoffs after winning cup/presidents trophy yr before

Or they look really good. Stop being so negative, it doesn't help any of your arguments.

Stalberg-Toews-Sharp
Saad-Kane-Hossa
Shaw-Bolland-Bickell
Carcillo-Kruger-Mayers
(Bollig)

Keith-Seebs
Leddy-Rosi
Oduya-Brookbank
(Monty)

Crawford
Emery

I expect Hammer and Frolik to be moved. I have Saad in the top 6 not because I believe he belongs there yet, but that is where he was at the end of the regular season/playoffs and Q is will keep him there even if he isn't ready for it (just like having Leddy on the 2nd pairing and the pk).

Not good for Hawks

Big road trip early (Disney on ice is at UC from Jan 30th-Feb 10th)

If Hawks start out poorly this could be disaster

No I am just realistic

This roster is very flawed

Oduya is terrible dman
Leddy struggles defensively
We have 2nd worst G duo in NHL (Flyers still worst IMO with Bryz/Leighton)
Kitchen is still here
Still no #2 C

Why would Habs trade 60 pt C for Hammer? Let alone add to him?

The 94-95 Hawk team went to the conference finals sweeping the Canucks on the way who had just gone to the Finals the year before. Granted the Hawks had Ed Belfour in net but in a shortened season At least it's not a marathon just to get to the playoffs and you never what moves the Hawks might make during the year or rookies that will step up.

Chicago isn't even close to a last place team NEC!!!!!!!!

Desharnais has got 60pts once and is an RFA..Hammer is a decent top 4 dman signed this and next year. Maybe not much of a plus.

Not even 12 hours after a deal is reached and BWC is already predicting that the Hawks will miss the playoffs.

Man, I missed hockey.

Saying the Hawks might end up with the #1 pick isn't being realistic. Stop being ridiculous, it's beyond obnoxious.

It's time to have a talk with Sharp. Start by congratulating him for getting that big payday he earned. Then tell him that we appreciate that he's a team leader and well ... we need him to step up and play the 2C spot. Barring a trade, he is our best option - period.

Saad-Toews-Hossa
Stalberg-Sharp-Kane
Bickell-Bolland-Shaw
Carcillo-Kruger-Frolik
Mayers

Keith-Seabrook
Hjalmarsson-Oduya
Leddy-Roszival
Brookbank-Montador

Crawford
Emery

If Hawks miss playoffs they could very well end up with #1 pick (All teams that miss playoffs will have chance at #1)
