So does that mean the schedule I see on the Flames website right now is the one they are sticking too? Its whether they want 48/50 games right? Or are they going to change it completely?

We're still too thin at centre; this is going to continue to be a major problem for us. Cervenka won't be ready for camp as per Feaster. I'd really rather not have Backlund or Stajan on that second line.

My opening night (I prefer Cammy on the wing, I want the centers to be given a chance unlike with Sutter):
Cammalleri-Backlund-Iginla
Baertschi-Stajan-Tanguay
Glencross-Jones-Hudler
Comeau-Horak-Stempniak
Giordano-Wideman
Brodie-Bouwmeester
Butler-Sarich
Kiprusoff, Irving
Scratches- Byron, Jackman, Smith
Injured - Cervenka
LITR - Bouma
Waivers then Abbotsford/Europe - Babchuk/Karlsson

Did Feaster mention an eta on Cervenka?
Also I'm willing to see Backlund get a bit more ice time. He played extremely well overseas during the lockout.

They're not even sure when he'll be able to fly over, let alone play.

Obviously that's why we have Kolanos.
What's the word on Cervenka anyways? I know he has some blood problem, and his wife just had their first kid, but is there an eta for his return / availability?

None. Flames haven't been in contact with any of the players.

Feaster is encouraged by reports on Backlund. Make or break for this guy.

With Cervenka out I think its a good bet that Backlund has a great shot at centering the 2nd line which is a great opportunity for him to shine

He is good at faceoffs. Couldn't hurt.

Tanguay - Backlund - Hudler
Glencross - Cervenka - Stempniak
Jackman - Stajan - Horak
Giordano - Wideman
Bouwmeester - Brodie
Sarich - Butler
Kiprusoff

I really like your line up. Only i have doubt about Horak present production. Obviously I have not seen any of Abbotsford match.

He is a complementary player that fit really well with Sven since Sven went down he has seemed lost.

After watching him play he's that special player that makes everyone around him better

I see now
the same way that a comparison to his father is not accurate. Horak jr. seems to be more goal scorer.
Thanks for feedback

Not really sure how all the lines will look, who will be healthy etc.,
but IMO Tanguay and Iginla need to play together.

If Cervenka is out, NOW is our best chance to see if we actually have something in Backlund. Make or break for him. Stick him on the 2nd line and let the cards fall where they may.

Perhaps I'm just feeling pessimistic looking at all the other teams predicted starting lineups but I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility. Especially if we lose a big name to injury. Hell, we lose Kipper and we might as well eat some crow before the Oilers start making us.
