Erat-Fisher-SK, Weber-Josi, Rinne or Mason pending Rinne's groin.

Of course I would kill to get Sykora on this team

Well you should have said something...

SK-Fisher-Erat
Smith-Wilson-Legwand (Yes, I do believe we finally see the switch)
Halischuk-Spaling-Hornqvist
Yip-Gaustad-Gutty UFA (Nashville has GOBS of capspace $15m +, signing a Sykora would be insane.)
McG-Mueller

IR: Bourque

Weber-Josi
Klein-Hannan
U.S.S. Gill-Human Rocketship (Who knew you could launch space ships off Aircraft carriers?)
Blum (You NEED the depth with compressed season)

Rinne
Mason (I do have that Masons/Chris Mason Jpg somewhere....)

The above list looks good to me. Little nervous about the blue line, but that is just the way things are going to be this year.

I am ready for this crazy ride. Thank the hockey gods!

I do not want to see Hannan getting 2nd pairing type minutes. He's good in a limited role from what I saw from him in Washinton. I'm hoping this is where either Blum or the Rocketship step up and solidify that pairing.

My lines would look something like this:

SK - Fisher - Erat
Smith - Legwand - Wilson (revolving door at center)
Halischuk - Spaling - Horns
Latta - Gaustad - Yip/Mueller
The Kraken

Weber - Josi
Klein - Ellis
Gill - Hannan/Blum

I think Bartley will make the team on the bottom pair

I don't think Bartley will make the team, but I see his as an early call up if there is an injury. Very little doubt in my mind he will play in the NHL someday.

Everyone has pretty much nailed it, but one question...does anyone else vaguely remember Trotz saying Craig Smith was going to center our first line this year? I may be imagining that, but I swear that's what he said. Don't have a source, but I think it was a radio interview. If that is true....

Wilson-Smith-Legwand
Erat-Fisher-SK (no way trotz splits them)
Hornqvist-Gaustad-Halischuk
Yip-Spaling-McG

Weber-Josi
Klein-Hannan
Ellis-Gill

Rinne
Mason

When Bourque is healthy, he takes Hali's spot, and Hali bumps Mcgrattan out.

I'm thinking with a minimal training camp the preds will be at a dustinct advantage having only really one new body(Hannan) to incorporate into the system. When trotz and staff start telling theses guys to run plays, every one of them will be familiar with what he's talking about.

I just hope Rinne is 100 percent and his crappy KHL numbers were due to him playing with all new teammates/system.

If Pekka is in midseason form I think the Preds could come out of the gate flying... I just hope all of the guys who didn't play during the lockout are well conditioned...

Hannan has been working out with a bunch of the guys already so I'm sure they've told him about plays and such. Granted, there's still a curve but he's a vet and with the help of the other guys he's been practicing with, he should be fine.

I hope we come out of the gate flying. If we don't, it's too short a season to make up ground. It's going to be a crazy couple of months.

The good thing is if we are out of the playoffs we have a shot at Seth Jones.

If we have a shot at Seth Jones (barring a lottery miracle), Barry Trotz may not have a job...Jones will go #2 or #3.

Anything is possible in a short season, but on paper this is a very weak roster. Almost post fire sale bad.

There are a lot of question marks. Half of our defense corps is a question mark, but our forwards are pretty standard I guess. Smith needs to show he can improve on last season, and Wilson needs to step it up, but otherwise it looks about the same as most years, and as long as Rinne stays injury free we'll be winning games.

I don't entirely agree with you, but let's assume you're right and that is a terrible roster. Has that ever stopped us from making the playoffs before?

With that crazy little no-neck son of a b**** behind the bench, this team is never out of it.

nice to see you havent lost your flair for hyperbole during the lockout. this team is exactly two players (Ryan Suter and Jordin Tootoo) different than the team that should have made the WCF's last year...

Suter is good, but his absence doesnt change us from legit cup contender to fire sale quality.

and surely you arent going to argue that losing Tootoo is going to hinder us dramatically?

False. 4. You're forgetting AK and Rads, arguably our two most talented forwards (I'd put rest over AK, but the point remains). Put them back in, and our forwards corps looks a lot better.

We need progress from Smith, Wilson, Josi, Ellis, Blum, and Bourque, but we can and will compete

I would argue Rads almost had negative impact in the grand scheme of things for that year. AK was much more dependable and I will grant you that we are slightly weaker without him. That said our forward crops will press on as they always do. The biggest loss here is Suter no matter how you draw it up. There's alot riding on Josi being a go-to player this year.

Except Rads and AK were deadline deals. Rads played what 7 regular season games last year?

Rads and AK contributed 7 goals and 12 points in the regular season for us (28 combined games). The hay was in mostly in the barn before they ever showed up.

If we can't get generate a replacement 7 goals and 12 points from somewhere, we're screwed anyway.

AK and rads were not on the team all year and honestly they didnt make us that much better, or else we'd have had a parade in June....

we were a top 5 team in the WC without either of them, and IMO we will be again this season if we avoid injuries...
